I'm sure you're going to miss that lovely garden. But let me extend a welcome to hot old Ontario. It is quite pleasant outside right now and we're supposed to be in for a couple of more moderate days.
When will you be in our neighbourhood?
Joan
Just a few pictures from today
Joan, thanks for telling me the weather is much nicer!!! I'm from the prairies, but have lived in BC for 15 years, and I'm not used to heat anymore, never mind humidity!!! I will just keep my fingers crossed that it is going to be good weather for us!
DD and I will be in Toronto from late Saturday afternoon till noon on Monday . Still havent' decided what we will do on the Sunday, but I know there are many things happening. OUr preference would be g ood theatre production, but I can't find anything that is running right now. I see Annie Get Your Gun starts the day after we leave!!!!
We are staying at the Sandalwood Suites on Orbitor Drive-in your neighbourhood I believe!!!!
Thansk for the Ontario welcome!

I haven't been to the zoo in years Glenda, so I can't speak to what it's like now. I enjoyed it very much the times I have been there in the past though. Perhaps Joan can give you more info? --Ginny
We were to the zoo in '03 and quite enjoyed outselves. Give yourself lots of time to wander.
Joan
I was there in mmm '98 I think. It was great, and yes, give yourself lots of time, bring lots of water to drink, as if it's hop, a lot of it is in the open, from what I remember but hey, that's a while ago.
If you are still posting or near a computer, what days will you be in Edmonton. Would love to meet you and show you some gardens in person. Send me an email
ggd, Lovely pics - every one. I love the blue of your hydrangea. I see a hint of pink in there. Puts me in mind of the one I posted, only it was more pink.
Hot, old Ontario is getting rain today, with lots of thunder-boomers. We DO need a good steady soaking for a few hours.
Joan
Gorgeous pics, Glenda! The waterlily and the brug is my fav. Your camera takes wonderful pictures. What kind do you have?
:) Donna
Just back from holidays last night. Had a good time, even with the extreme heat and humidity, especially in Windsor. 45 humidex one day. Us West Coasters just aren't used to that!!!!! Ended up doing the CN Tower on the day we were in Toronto, and did a walk on Yonge Street, ending up at the Eaton Centre. DD is a Barbie collector, and wouldn't you know, the first store we see is a toy store with some Barbies that she wanted. So we had to haul them around the whole time. Had great visits with family, and the conference we went to was wonderful. Did a production of INTO THE WOODS in Stratford. Shopped everywhere, and had to restrain myself, of course. Not much for garden shopping, but did see a wonderful large bed of blooming daturas in Ballinifad, Ontario. Just right by the highway.
So now to get back to normal and back to gardening. My brugs are wonderful, and my datura have blooms.
Hope to post more soon.
Glenda
Jagonjune, sorry I missed your message. Would have been great to meet you. We were actually staying in Spruce Grove, but I did get to a garden centre somewhere just off Mayfield Road. My sister-in-law needed to buy a gift, and they have great giftware, and wonderful plants too. And POTS!!!! All the pots I saw were great prices, but unfortunately, hard to haul on an airplane. Did that on Friday, had a wedding on Saturday, and home Sunday. So not really too much time in Edmonton Thanks for thinking of me, and you never know when I will get back there.
Glenda
Donna, I use a KODAk 4800 digital. We have had it for several years and really like it. It was expensive at the time, but is still a very good quality camera even now.
It DOES take good pictures, and I love digital. I will try and do pictures of my brugs today as I just love them. I was sitting here at the computer last night with the kitchen door open, and the scent wafting in was just wonderful.
Glenda
Welcome home Glenda. Sounds like you had a great time on your vacation. Weather here since you have been gone has been wonderful and not just the Interior but the west coast weather too. Can't wait to see some photos of your Brugs. I have two more Frosty Pinks just emerging now too. You can be sure I'll be taking pictures when they arrive. :)
