He came all the way over from Alabama and spent the day with me. Janet and Jen came for a few minutes too. Larry came bearing more gingers for me I wanted from the MBG plant sale and a few others. He took me to Lowes for dirt then he planted all day while I did some repotting(I can't bend over yet). He planted all he brought plus a bunch I had that needed to go into the ground bad. He is so special and a good friend to have. Larry Honey I really appreciate you giving up a day of your vacation to spend helping me get things planted

I agree Donna... Larry is a sweetie.. He stopped here today bringing plants like Santa.. what wonderful new plants I will have for the swamp and around the house. He helped me out by taking home some of my "weeds" from the swamp (joke between us)... It's a shame that it was so hot.. and I had company come in from Ga today so we didn't get to go nursery hopping around here.
How great. Christmas in July. You guys deserve each other. All so generous of spirit too. I am glad you are taking it easy Donna. It is not worth hurting yourself at this late date.

Donna it was no problem what so ever to go over to you house and help... It was so much fun... I can't wait to eat some gumbo....maybe in two weeks I will be able to come again and bring more gingers.... Those last two days were the best times I have had on vacation in 5 years....
Trish, Now I can say I have been in the swamp. =) it was good visit. tell donnab and janet os the names of the gingers you have in your yard. They all have those blooming too. at the same time so it must be the same thing and your the only one with the names of what you bought. That "BEEP" at the nursery told me he had 35,000-40,000 dollars worth of problems from dennis. and all it looked like was his plastic blew away.... maybe 3,000-4,000 dollars but not that much. he did have a big list of ginger but they were like "yellow loly pop" and "wine stem crcuma" but he had a 3 gallon pot of the"wine stem" that was scarlet fever for $15.00 very fair price. but I got a hilo beauty for $1.00
and something I have to post on here for 12.50. I wanted to say it is a zebrina x wenzelii but maybe bward. etc can tell me. and any time you need me to pull weeds just call me... and I will pull... hopefully the weeds I got will do like yours and just take over...That bbq was good..... just loved it maybe next time we can pull Hugo from his busy schedual and make a outing out of it. which I should have brought some plants for hugo too. now I don't need anything for christmas, I got 2 of something that I have been wanting for the longest time. other than the weeds...LOL WOWOWOOWWWOOOO

Well I promised him a good supper but was to pooped to cook or anything else and all I did was pot up 8- 1 gal brugs to 5 gal so I whipped out a bag of shrimp gumbo from the freezer and packed it in ice for him to take home. Trish can tell you how good it is lol. She had some at Easter
Larry sending you some seeds. Found some pods on the Centrosema vine you liked so much. The the light purple flowers out at the wildlfie garden, the Purple Lions Tail(Leonurus Sibiricus) and some others I think you may like

Ely.... I posted a long post this morning and came back tonight and couldn't find the darn thing... rats... anyway... it was a wonderful visit. I've got all your babies planted.. some in the swamp and the vicious ones by the house, as we discussed. Yes, next time Hugo is going to have to come up as well. I'll pass those ginger names on to Donna and Janet.. maybe they'll help me out by trading me some of their off-shoots of gingers I don't have... I really miss my big ginger collection I had.
I found another little patch of those smaller weeds that you found and took.. seems like those little buggers got planted in couple of places.. ooppss.. and of course a bigger patch of those big weeds.. LOLOLOL..
Looks like I'm going to have to go north of town to that nursery and check out what they have.. hopefully I'll be waited on by one of the workers and not the owner.

I picked up the cinnamon ginger Ely as it was marked as "fragrant" although I don't see a single bloom on it.. unless it is that when cooking with it. I have to agree on the zebrina x wenzelii ID... the only other one would be tigrina.. and the markings on the stems just aren't right.

Donna, isn't it so special when you have friends who give of their time and come and help you out. I know Ely enjoyed the day with all of you but his kindness tells me much about him.
I am glad that you are progressing and will start P/T soon and with Trish coming the end of August, you have so much to look forward to.
