Volunteers plant and maintain the gardens. This year vandals played golf with the beds destroying about 25 out of 35 beds prior to the lilies blooming. The small community of volunteers replanted with donated lilies from various people, and from local greenhouse suppliers. The show went on and brought much joy to the public. Access is free and many people go to see them.

Lilies of St. George, Ontario
Considering that the garden shown was the "back-up" after the vandals had their turn, I would say you guys did a FANTASTIC job. Sorry to hear about the initial setback. What a come-back you guys managed to put on.
When NALS was in Hamilton (99 I think) St. George was on one of the bus tours. As I remember there was a really good ice cream place near.
The only other town where I've ever seen so many lilies in a public place is Neepawa MB.
There used to be a really good lily supplier in St. George called Dick McQueen. Don't know if he is still there.

Inanda.
There is a lily vendor around the corner from the gardens. ( Doug Byron). He grows lilies mostly as a hobby and is semi-commercial, selling to passerby's. His garden is astonishing. I visit regularly and now have my own lily bed, which should be in full glory next year. This year I have them in pots and will transplant in the ground in August or thereabouts.
Yes! The ice cream place is still in business. I visit now and then, since I am only a few km from the area.
