I'm glad you asked about a RU, Shoe.....check this out...is it too far? Jo

Welcome DebbiesDaisy! (Horseshoe's Sister!!)
I meant every word of it, Shoe. To me, you are "The Greatest"!
Actually, I do have a movie...but I'm a photographer...not a film maker...and it's obvious!
Quality is sub standard, but I figured Debbie would like about anything that shows you singing and telling a story.
Got her a 'care package' ready to mail today...and one for you too!!!
Isn't Mel just the greatest????? Wow!
I feel sure that Debbie will be overjoyed to get that package.
Oh my!!!! Thank you thank you thank you, Mel!! This is exciting! Thanks!
What a nice treat you've offered my 'new' sister! (And even CC'd one to me!!!) Will be watching the mailbox daily!
And yes, like Ellen says, "Isn't Mel just the greatest?" Not a soul would disagree!
Awwww shucks...(Mel scruffs her feet and looks at the ground)
It's already in the mail!!
Enjoy!
I wish I could be a fly on the wall to see when both brother and sister open their packages. Fantastic, Mel, as usual!
Debbie, here is one of my favorites of your brother...
He & I were talkin' 'bout our dirty cracked feet...the picture tells the rest of the story.
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=1068706
That's one I printed out for her Lisa! It's in the mail and on the way!!
You are all so wonderful to do this for me (and Shoe!)! I am just so excited, you have no idea! And I must admit, my feet look about like those in the picture. You see, I am "shoeless" 95% of the time, hate the things and that is usually what my feet look like! Between us both not liking to wear shoes, and me liking chicken gizzards, it is frightening the similarities! Its like finding myself after all these years.
Ya know that song "Somewhere out there, beneath the deep blue sky...." from Fievel....I always thought of my brother(s) when I heard that song. Except my Mom & Kids, this is the first time I have had "blood family" connections in many many years. So this really is special to me.
Thanks again so much, Melody you are a sweet angel to do this! All of you are just so special to send me these pictures and stuff.
Many hugs to all of you,
Debbie
Melody made a copy of that picture for me also because she knew how much I love Lisa and Horseshoe. I have it in my den where I can see it all the time. She also gave me the one of Shoe and the campfire and it stays out all the time in my den. That picture is just wonderful, both from the viewpoint of who it is and how natural a setting for Shoe and the fact that Melody took such a wonderfully artistic picture.
Well if this isn't the neatest story. Thank you for directing me here Peggy.
Hi Debbie!
A very belated WELCOME from the other side of the state where your brother lives. I've had company for a few weeks so I've haven't been on DG a lot.
Your brother is one of my most favorite people in the whole wide world. He's bringing DH & I some corn next week. But he does get supper. I cook for corn LOL
I look forward to meeting you and chatting with you. You have a beautiful family. If you want anything from my garden, it's yours!
Glad you and shoe found each other! Hugs...vic
Dear Vic,
Thanks so much for the warm welcome, I do appreciate it. So do YOU have any stories of my brother for me? I am finding out some interesting things about him! haha Recently he was seen on the Pets forum, running through someones yard dressed as big foot! Better talk to Howie about that one Shoe! haha
Great meeting you and I hope we can talk soon!
Hugs to you all,
Debbie
Welcome Debbie. I am new to Dave's Garden, too, and I have a long-lost brother that I am hoping to go and find this next year. Your story and all the love that is being poured out in this thread has really meant a lot to me to read. I'm sure it has to you, too. What a happy ending. Several years ago I found a cousin on the internet and it led to a 40-person cousin reunion in Colorado that next year. We could not believe our eyes. Some of us had not seen each other in over 50 years! That was really something. The internet has done a lot of this.
hah! Roadrunner!....I remember that photo! That was the first day I shaved without cutting myself! (I was SO proud that day!) :>)
1gardengram, a Hearty WELCOME TO DG! Sounds like your cousin reunion was a mighty fine happening!
Howdy Vic...Hope to see you soon. Will check out the corn patch today!
Yeah, Horseshoe it was. We all want to do it again soon. We're all getting older and one has already died since that reunion in 2002. Can't wait too long. Too much to catch up on. I'm so happy for you and your sister. My brother has wanted to stay lost, so just have to go search. It's been 25 years now.
Shoe, I am just now seeing this. I am so happy for you and Debbie. Ralph will see his daughter in two weeks that he hasn't seen in 20 years. I fly to MA on Wednesday and bring her back with me the following Weds. Did I mention she has 4 children, so our blessings were doubled overnight! :)
Ralph is so excited about this. We need to get the other daughter to come around.
Get together as soon as you can. BTW, where is Lyndonville?
I was going to ask does Debbie wear shoes, but then she answered that for me. :) Yes, it is strange how people are different, yet alike.
Many hugs to all of you and enjoy each other.
:) Kathy
I love reunions! That is fantastic, Kathy. Let us know all about it when you get to a computer once again.
I can hardly wait for the Horseshoe and Debbie reunion!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to both Misty and Elena for the welcome. I hope you get Ralph and both his girls back together, sounds like a new beginning.
I haven't seen Shoe since I was probably 2 or 3 years old, and like he says "In diapers". I means so much to go through the round up pictures and see the picture of him and Alex, my first "real" neice. She is such a beautiful girl and I see some family resemblance with my girls.
No, I don't wear shoes unless I have to go into Town, and I get yelled at if I dont! I got scolded for driving without them also, but do I listen, NAAA, no way! haha If I am in a grumpy mood, mostly cause I had to wear shoes that day! haha
Nice meeting you both and I look forward to chatin with you at DG.
Debbie
What an amazing inherited quality. Who knew that not wearing shoes could be in the genes?
How wonderful that you can see the collection that has accumulated at DG over the years of our beloved Shoe and Alex Alex is not only beautiful on the outside but she is just as beautiful on the inside.....just like her daddy.
Bigtime congrats to Ralph!...and you also Kathy!
I bet ya'll are pleased as punch! Hope you post pics of the reuniting! (Hey, maybe Ralph's sister will one day join the DG Family, eh?) :>)
Edit starts here: -----> Hah!, sorry Kathy! (It's me mind, ya know! Plus I must be thinking a lot of MY sister!)
Lemme rephrase that: Hey, maybe Ralph's Daughter will one day join the DG Family, eh?

Nope, not Ralph's sister (either one of them) andI hope they never do! Perhaps his daughter one day will, but so far, they are not like Ralph. :) Perhaps one of them has a green thumb somewhere in there.
Thanks for the congrats. Will post pics, I promise.
Happy Day, Kathy
hah! Sorry!....
I just edited my wording above!
Am kinda giggling though over your "Nope, not Ralph's sister (either one of them) andI hope they never do!"
I know the feeling!
Do you ever wish they'd put just one more l in Efland? :) I always want to say you live in Elfland. Wouldn't that be fun?
Understandable with your sister on your mind. Hope you get to see her soon. Northwest airlines has reasonable fares these days (just food for thought)...
:) K
No way am I gonna get on a aeroplane! Too chicken!
(Remember...I don't wear shoes cus they put me too far off the ground!)
By the way, I used to refer to this place as Elfland...(after all, it is a "small" town!).
Shoe, You'd be there in no time. You could take your shoes off once you got on the plane. And you could get one of those headsets and sleep the whole trip. :) K
Something tells me, if he really is like me, and I really am like him, he would start at one end.....and I would start at another...and we would just meet in the middle! Cause I really don't like my feet too far off the ground either! haha Last time I got on a plane, I had some happy stuff to get me there!
DH and I have been talkin about a road trip and meetin up with Shoe and family. Just gotta get all our beans in the kettle and other stuff put on a burner to simmer a bit! In other words....the dang kids better stay healthy so we can travel! haha
Well, you are welcome to "meet in the middle" at Misty Meadows Farm and we will probably even have enough beds for everyone then. Fixing the upstairs to put 4 beds and a crib for out impending company next week. :) [and installing an a/c upstairs.] :) Kathy
a belated WELCOME to you Debbie!
I bet you will really enjoy DG. You are already benefitting from non-gardening info! Can't wait to see you around in the forums.
Somewhere is a thread from last summer, when Shoe had some friends over & played dancing music for them in his corn patch.
And have you seen the pic of his "twin" brother LOL?
What a generous offer Kathy! Sounds perfect to me. But y'all gotta take pictures & post them in another forum where everyone interested will see them!
Tamara AKA tf AKA Cornius
hello welcome.. i 'm always barefoot hate shoes walk in snow .. everyone tell you tat or ask Tazzy unless she told it at kru last year when she met you all.. welcome have a great time.. nice to have more familys together on..
Tamara, thanks for the welcome, much appreciated! I saw most of the pictures, went through them one by one!
And as for his "twin" are you speaking of (shhh he dont like this) Red Green? It is sooo funny if you are, cause when my DH first saw Shoes picture...thats who he said he looked like! I promptly corrected him and told him I DO NOT THINK SO....but...then I find this thread on here with the same thing! DH got quite the laugh and I got a "I told you!" But don't tell Shoe cause I think I might get scoldin from big brother! haha
Thanks again for the warm welcome, and I promise when that day comes we meet up...there will be LOTS of pictures
Debbie
Wait...Did you see the thread about Shoe and Red?

Yep, I saw that one for sure, did a double take, then said...na, no way...Shoe is much more handsome! (Family trait with the men) However, it was runnin through my mind if we should write to old "Red" and see if he has some size 10's? Just for identification purposes ya know!
That was the thread I had seen and DH gave me the "I told you!" issues and that other people thought the same thing. I believe also, Red wears shoes! haha
no, not Red Green. there is another...
Another one? Oh no, I don't know about that one! Just saw the Red Green one. So where do I get the scoop on this new one? Regardless, we all know there is ONLY one Shoe! I think......
My absolute favorite photo of Alex :) Her face, that smile !!!!
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/509955/
Awww, that picture says it all "My fish is BIGGER than Dads!"
She is so beautiful! I like the recipe below that for catfish also.
Thanks for sharing!
Debbie (Proud Aunt of Alex :o) )
I can't recall where the picture is, i remember shoe & farmerdill joking bout how his twin brother was much more handsome than he. the pic was taken in the cornfield, & i just saw it in the last two months. i would tell you who it is, but don't want to spoil the surprise!
when i find it, you can bet I'll post it here! :-)
