Wouldn't this one be fun if it stayed this color???

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I was out pollinating till I couldn't see anymore. I am so tired. I think I did 100 blooms between 2 growing grounds. I got to this one and laughed. I needed a lift. What a kick.

Look at those colors!

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

ohhh, now that I like! The heat maybe?

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

I'd start filling out those patent papers now.

It gives me that must have... feeling in my belly!

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

No! No heat! It stays... and another one opens just like it... only double... yeah double that's it.

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

Seriously, how do you keep track of all your crosses? You must be hip deep in paperwork.

Melissa

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I bet Sue. Do you believe this heat? I spent all day being miserable. I had to do payroll so I had to go to work. And after that paid work, I worked for free right up to dark pollinating. Before work, I spent 3 hours repotting brugs. Could I be getting sick of them? LOL I spend more time doing brugs than doing what I get paid to do.

Hi Melissa. I try to keep a photo gallery of them all. Even the ugly ones. I sort them by crosses. I have so many though, it is hard to keep up. Nicknames used to come to me by looking at the new brug and I could remember exactly which was which. But now no nicknames come anymore. Makes it hard. They do not respond to HEY YOU! LOL

Here it is just before it opened.

wow kell, that sure is something else.....any chance it might stay that color?

thinking about you an the bird the other day, my birds were out flying around and i couldnt get them back in,.,, (that was you wasnt it with the bird.....?)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi Pebble!! No, I bet it is pink tomorrow, sadly.

Yes, I have a featherless wonder here. He used to fly all over though when he had feathers. Now he stands on me and makes me take him all over as he makes kissing noises in my ear. He is such a charmer.

How are you doing? You are so very far away.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

really cool looking Kell

Knoxville, TN

KEWEL Kell! Who knows, maybe you will come up with a Bi-Color bloom after all.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

She is so unique. I really hope she holds this pattern, but even if she changes, the process is fascinating. Awesome!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I should run out and look at it but I am still too tired. LOL. I am getting old. My body aches this morning. Don't you hate it when it takes you an hour to straighten up in the morning. LOL

They are so adorable Pebble as are their names. LOL. Do many over in Turkey get the names?

Are they very personable and human friendly? I understand if you get a pair they bond to each other not to you. I always wanted Love birds, they are too beautiful. You were so brave to pack up and move so far away. So adventuresome. I hate even to leave my house for just a vacation!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

no kell, no one gets their names.....just my kids....and my sister who was visiting....
yeah..it was a mistake to get two of them, they bond with each other, and ignoe me....but I'm gonna show them....Im going to encourage them to breed then snatch their baby.....
and hand raise it, and she will think that Im her mommie.....

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Pebble. Sometimes I am not dealing with a full deck. LOL LOL!!! I read when you said
"but I'm gonna show them...."

As you were going to show them in a show. But you meant you were going to teach those birds a lesson! LOL

Glad your son is with you!! My boy is here too for the summer. I love having him so close.

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

That's beautiful Kell, do you think it will stay that way? keep us posted. That is so unique looking.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hey, it still is bicolored. LOL. Also limp. We are having a heat wave. I have to water all. I need to get off this computer and get going. I have been glued to this machine since 7:30 am. I have gotten about 100 emails this morning and have been chatting on here too. I am so bad.

Ozark, AL(Zone 8b)

I would absolutly Need this one to breed to Nancy's Angels; I for one just love these colored stars streaks stripes and even spots that have started showing up, and maybe breeding two two-toned brugs together would give us a whole new line of them?!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Lagata, if it stays like this I will share with you but experience tells me it won't!!! I wouldn't be so lucky!!

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

It IS your lucky day (think positive). A bi-colour and a pink double. Perhaps buying a lottery ticket today would be in order.

:)

Ozark, AL(Zone 8b)

Tombaak has a point; I'd say your luck this week isn't really so bad ;)
If it does stay this way, I'll return the trade with NsA, or ?? I really would love a line of these!

Get that ticket

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well, actually you are right and I am having great luck today!! My own double got color today!!! I was so shocked to see it. When I get home I will post a pic.

Oh sorry Lagata, I forgot to answer you, I was so excited. No trade necessary. I usually just send and do not trade. I think I have traded twice while on here and those are just recently. I feel too much pressure to send something perfect. I rather just send whatever it is. We will see, when I left home it was still 2 colored.

Did you say DOUBLE PINK?!!! Wow! Congratulations! It's only right that the leader of the 'make all gardens pink' conspiracy has her own double pink. LOL

My husband thinks I'm loony with my obsession over my pink singles. I showed him a picture of the one that sold for so much on ebay and he really gave me the 'she's crazy' look. If I didn't know for a fact that it'd make him mad I would have been bidding along with all the others. Ah, the sacrifices we make for love. LOL

wow i hope he knows what he is getting into with those birds they can live for over 50 years, long comitment...

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh my gosh Sherry. I LOVE THEM!!!! What kind are they? They sure are chunky babies. Are they from the same batch?? That red one has my name on it. Though I swore I would never get another bird. I hate having mine live such an unnatural life. Spoiled but unnatural.

Anna, you got that right. My son hates my bird. I need to make some kind of money allotment for the bird to live after I am gone. I would hate to think he would die just because I did.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Sherry, love the birds, i think one of those has my name on it too......
LOL kelll on the show birds.....still chuckling about that one.... my kids dont like the birds either, I was going to keep them at home, but my daughter had fit.....as if it were her house, nd as if she was going to take care of it....she just hated the noise they make.
Kell will you post pic of the doubling (skirting...as it were) of this brug.....

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

kell, that is totally awesome! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!
