Any chance of identifying this one?

Fayette, IA(Zone 4b)

I ordered several lilies from White Flower Farm a number of years ago. One was supposed to be pure white (Top Hit). I didn't get any white one, but I did get this which wasn't even close to anything I ordered. Does anybody have any ideas, or is this a lost cause?

The color is more intense earlier in the day and when it first opens.

It could be a lost cause, but it's too pretty to not try. I'd be willing to check around a bit tomorrow ~

Thanks, I'd appreciate any help I can get. (And congrats on your sweet grand-baby!)

Thanks, MJ.

Being a far cry from 'expert' status, the best I can come up with is Bestseller ~ the pic here isn't great, but the description fits pretty well. http://www.thelilygarden.com/pages_lilies/asiatic_peach_1.html However, considering the source, it could be that one or a strain of it. Or completely unrelated. That being the case, I would give it a 'garden name' and enjoy it's beautiful sunrise colors.

Thanks, Moby. You're right, the description does sound very similar. And I understand completely that it's impossible to make a positive identification from a couple of pictures like this unless the cultivar is very distinctive. Thanks for the link to The Lily Garden - may need to do me a little shopping.

LOL Happy shopping!

Never mind the lily (can't believe I said that).. I want to know what that bright blue thingy is.

Am totally lilied out after a week at Nals and eyeing stems anxiously for the Nepawa Lily Festival & show this coming weekend.

Ginny! Are you feeling well?? lol

The blue thingie is gorgeous, isn't it? Delphinium?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Yep. Feeling fine. Just slightly sleep-deprived still.
Thank you for asking Moby.

Delphinium. hmm. Wish they could stand up to winds better.

Re the lily MartyJo. It could be a seedling that the supplier bought in bulk from Holland. It may never be named . I certainly cant.

Sorry it's been so long since I checked back in here. That bright blue thingy is delphinium's first cousin, larkspur. And being lighter and shorter, it's less prone to wind damage. I let them self- seed and come up where they will, sometimes resulting in nice combinations.

Wow....I could look at that all day long.
