Zeppy Shenandoah Valley, VA(Zone 6b) Jul 08, 2005

We've got these borers in a lovely spruce in our front yard. It seemed to fail and start browning in no time. We're told we should cut it down and spray like crazy to keep it from spreading. Please, anyone: have you dealt with this? Any alternative to nuking the area? I keep an organic yard. So far, anyway.
