Hi, all. We lost our 14 year old sweet Harvey dog three weeks ago to kidney failure, and we are now considering adopting a young male mix breed dog from an animal rescue here in North Carolina. I read this forum often (although I rarely post), and know that a lot of you out there have a lot more experience with dog breeds than my DH and I do. So I was hoping you might be able to offer some insight as to what kinds of breeds this dog is a mix of? This is important to me because I know that different breeds have different character traits and needs.
We have not met this dog yet--our adoption is pending. We live in the mountains of NC and this little fellow, Joey, is on the coast. We are going to the coast on business next weekend and plan to meet him then. He is supposed to be good with cats and other dogs and quite friendly. He's about 8 months old.
Anyway--what do you say as to breed types all mixed into this one dog? Pictures follow.
