Brookhaven, PA(Zone 7a)

WHA??? I have never seen this... I planted moonvines (I know they are thornless), mixed MG seeds, red moonvine, and some of my Grandpa otts re-seeded themselves but this one has THORNS what is this?? I don't know what to make of it. I know I planted it - the mixed MG seeds were just that- a pack I recived in a trade that just said mixed morning glory- I guess hand collected, at least not in a commecial pack.

There is a bud - I wll hot foot it outside every morning until it blooms. Anyone heard of this?

I don't know the botanical name and all that jazz, but it looks like what my mom has always called a "sawmill briar". You know how us southerners have a tendency to call plants by what our mothers and grandmothers have always called them.

Of course--I could very well be wrong.
