My sister lives in San Francisco, by Golden Gate park and her daughter has decided to beautify their street by putting some plants around the trees and filling in a couple of bare spots.. so she asked me for advice on what to plant since she's not into gardening but I have no idea what would do well in her area, I garden in a much different zone ! The plants under the trees would only get maybe half a day of sun, the bare areas more. She's looking for perennials and I think she wants something taller for the bare spots, she was checking out delphiniums, smaller plants under the trees. Easy care is her main concern ..... If anyone has any ideas for good city plants I would appreciate it .....
Thanks
Cris
Help?
I'm pretty new to flower gardening, but have experienced enough problems with Delphiniums to wonder how they would do in the fog one can reasonably expect during the summer months in Golden Gate Park.
I would suggest taking a tour of the Botanical Gardens to get some ideas. You can do a virtual tour on their website

Hi Chris,
I did a zone search and here is a list of plants that grow well in your sister's area.

Hope that helps a little

Thanks for your suggestions. :)
