I am having a terrible time germinating my coneflowers, rudbeckias, and gloriosa daisies. I have tried dark, fridge, and under lights. My house stays at about 78 degrees. Does anyone have any suggestions? I did germinate magnus in a coffee filter.
trouble with rudbeckia & echinacea germinating
They need light. Are they fresh seeds? They should germinate easily, but it does take a little longer than with marigolds. Filter paper needs to be damp but not soaking wet.
Sorry, this is new to me. How do you start them in a filter? Jeanette
gloriag, I have Rudbeckia - Indian Summer growing like weeds in yard this year, due the fact that I didn't dead head soon enough. If you would like some, I'd be glad to send you some for postage.
Thanks,
I did manage some this year and they are probably like the
Indian Summer. They are growing well. I will collect new seeds soon and try again next year, or I will try winter sowing.
Gloria
