Thank you all for making the 'hosting' of this momentous event easy and delightful for us. Getting to meet so many of the people I've had contact with in these forums. Pam and I were both blown away by the diverse knowledge base of the many participants and were amazed at the killer food.
I didn't get much of a chance to eat, but the linguiza was marvellous and Pam thoroughly enjoyed the Salmon Cakes, and would like the recipe for the cream cheese dish that we think was brought by Donna and Jerry. We both had a hunk of carrot cake with coffee and tea and boy was it yummy. A special thanks to Jerry and Chuck1260 for helping, no, doing most of the BBQ-ing. Jerry, the tequila will come in very handy for margaritas at Playa Pamela this afternoon.
The gifts we received from the hearts, artistic talents (Jo), and gardens of so many of you were very generous. The gift of your attendance to make this a truly lovely gathering is something we are very grateful for.
All of the food and plant talk was just a treat that won't be soon forgotten. Making new friends and seeing a few old ones here at our place. Being able to share our passion for horses and gardens with others was a rare and enjoyable thing.
We will also let our ranch hands and Mercedes know how much their contribution was appreciated by those whom expressed same. Our ranch family, both two and four legged, thank all of you for making it fun!
best to all,
Pamela and Donald

Don, sorry to say, but the creamcheese dish wasn't mine. Which dish are you talking about anyway? The dessert one or the endive with cheese. The dessert one was brought by Jo and if you check the other thread started by Weezy12, you will see where I posted a link to it for Dave.
Donna
hiya SoCal!
Thanks, I just didn't know who brought what and Pam thought you might have brought it. I will give Pam the link and she'll see if it was what she enjoyed. Please thank Jerry for his help and you both for the booze...woohoo!..lol.
And for the Maidenhair, I am grateful.
best,
Don
Oh Thanks! about carrot cake which I has this from cooking book which it very old recipe from George Washinton Tea Carrot Cake in 1783 which it came from my great-great grandparent was escape from killing all of his childrens (Hart's Family). So that's why I has this old Revolutionary War recipe.

Hope it will be another RU again next year?
I believe the cream cheese dish was roadrunner's... maybe not? it was good.
Thank you again Don and to everyone that came. My mom had a fantastic time and intends on getting her butt in the forums soon. I'm sure you'll all have a time with her... ;)
Rusty, why don't you post the recipes on the recipe forum? Then we could all share them.

Please do thank everyone on the ranch for making the day so wonderful.

And they are great!!
I had a great time....and was shocked to learn that Naien was MALE...and a nice young (19) man......I enjoyed talking to him and his Mom...now he is going to grow gourds!!
I have to go home today...but I have really enjoyed my trip to San Diego...Amy took me to La Jolla yesterday to see the seals...we ate at the Fish Market...yummy shrimp!! I love it here! Jo
Oh.....Amy made the cheese cake recipe yesterday....so she would have it to munch on all week....plus we had a lesson in cooking one of her favorite old family recipes...Fried/steamed cabbage....passing on the food baton of yesteryear. My Mom taught me and I think i'm the only one in the family that still cooks it. LOL
Thanks for the great memories all of you! Jo
I knew that Amy was a smart cookie.. I'm going to make that recipe, too, since I missed it!
It was great meeting you and Amy, Jo. We were down in SD/Coronado with a visiting relative on Sunday and were thinking about you both.
Fried cabbage? Sounds interesting. :-)
