Just for fun I decided to see if Purple Coneflower seed would germinate in the Summer.
I scattered the seed on June 5th and two weeks later it was up, with temperatures over 90 degrees,
actually close to 100, here in Texas.
I do water every day, and they are doing great, which goes to show that some seeds do germinate in the heat of summer.
Here is the seed bed.
Germination experiment. How about yours?
very good to know! i planted some on or about the same day
