Long Lunch

Howdy Jamie. You did good, girl. They behave just like hosta--die back and return. And as far as the flowers, I think they are as insignificant as hostas', so I wouldn't anticipate or expect much.

(sighing VERY VERY heavily) Now that would be a most interesting COOP theme. These plants are a lot of fun and there is a lot of variety. But oh, I forgot, no coops. Boo-hoo.

I think I may go back and get another one. I "have to" go back at lunch sometime during the week to see if they got any more Rudbeckia in. I got one (Indian Summer) for $2.99- one gallon pot! They are on the "Grow Card" special and this was a fresh shipment that just sold out real fast b/c of the price. She said they should get more and that special will still be going on. Woo hoo! So while I'm there, I will grab another "ginger." Don't give up on co-ops girl! Have faith that they will be back!

can you tell that I am in a bellyaching mode????

Oh you aren't so bad Nery! I let you experience my psycho PMS mode full throttle a few weeks ago so you KNOW I'm not gonna be one to judge! Ha!

VOSSNER... dont cry...they are working on getting the coop back...have you been following the COOP thread? Some of the vendors have got involved and are offering good suggestions.
JAMIE I did see the tropicals but I didnt want to look there because I did not want to see anything that was not a perennial and guess what I bought, that Silver Dollar plant? didnt realize it was annual until I got it home. you are going to love that Persian Shield, I buy one every year...wish I knew how to save it. I know what you mean about that Hellabores i have three I bought two years ago, they are growing...but thats all. I bought one because it was the Lenten rose..always been fascinated by it...also ordered two red ones from Bently's because there were blooming. what can I say...thank God I am a foilaige person. :)

Sylvia-

I know what you mean! I only like to buy annuals if they reseed freely and/or are easy to root. On that note, supposedly you CAN take cuttings of Persian Shield and root it. Just like coleus. So I'll give it a shot.

Dallas, TX

Really? I will give it a shot too! Thanks Jamie!

Oh- someone (calalily or maggiemoo?) told me to take the cuttings from NON-FLOWERING stems of the plant as they seem to root better. I will cut every single stem off that plant and root it and just see what "takes." Ha!

Wish I could take credit for the info, but as I am propagationally-challenged, it sure wasn't me. Had to be cala.

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

It was- just found where she said it in my other thread. Propagationally challenged huh? I wonder if that's listed as a recognized handicap in the Americans with Disabilities Act! Should be if it isn't already. LOL!

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

LOL! That's the truth!
