How are you doing Manitoba???

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

We got to a high of 102.4F yesterday (and most of last night due to that darn humidity). Sounds like you might get it worse. :( Echoes your garden should get rain tho finally!

Winnipeg,, MB(Zone 3a)

well I am out there watering everything is dry..
hope we do get rain today
going to getto 35C today,,
the air is very heavy,,

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

The humidity's prolly going to push it into the 40's then. :( Hope you have air conditioning!!!

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Gosh, I feel for you guys. I remember what that was like in Manitoba. And luckily, when visiting DH's family in Regina we never have expereinced it . Here in BC's Southern Interior, it is normal to have 30-35C, but we don't have high humidity, so it is really enjoyable. Although it did take me a while to climitize after so many years in Alberta.

On the plus side, you are going to have very happy tomatoes! :)

Winnipeg,, MB(Zone 3a)

oh yes I have A/C and it is turned on right now and I am not going outside except to move the sprinkler around..
A/C has been running since last week

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

A must have, IMO.

I just droppppped in to say goodbye........ I'm standing in a pool of butter. Oh whoops that's not butter it's me. I've melted to my knees and it won't be long till I'm just a big puddle of grease. gettttting shorter.......

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

LOLOLOL....I take it you don't have A/C either Brenda. In our case it's pretty hard (and very, very, very expensive) to change from steam heat pipes to a regular furnace that an air conditioner could be attached to. We've looked at window models but our windows aren't made for them either. Fans at full blast and slightly dampened sheets help until the system blows away (to the next poor province ;).

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

LOL, hang on Brenda!!! Crawl to the fridge...

Did you get the rain?

Winnipeg,, MB(Zone 3a)

we sure did get rain last night and today it is nice and cool no need for A/C
I am sure echoes will bounce back today..

:D Ü :D

I'm not asking for sympathy cause I know there are very few areas of Canada that are happy with the weather they have been getting this spring/summer. But for the sake of the saturated prairies, could we have a little "no more rain dance" please. The rivers here are rising and I'm tired of all this water. Our poor farmers, well some of them aren't poor yet, but most don't have much hope anymore. I see little glimpses of brighter sky, so maybe the rain is over for a few days. Keep dancing.

How much rain did you get over there, Lilypon?

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I have no idea echoes but we sure don't need anymore........sun and heat would certainly be *greatly* appreciated now. I'm amazed by how much my tomatoes etc. have grown with those four days of heat! I think we will have a jungle when the temps start rising.

I sure worry about the crops too.....our farmers sure can't afford to have a repeat of last year. :(

Today looks very promising.....no rain clouds in sight and it is getting hot out there!!!! :D Ü :D

Whoopeee..... rain thing a maduee says 3 1/2 inches or about 89 ml. That's enough for now thanks. I think the wind is finally blowing the clouds away here too, at least for a day or two. Thanks for dancing.

I'm curious.....what is that a picture of??? The road by your yard? ;) A creek? Pasture land?? Certainly looks like a fast flowing river now!

We sent only big fluffy clouds your way so you should be doing well tomorrow too. :)

That fence is my panic line.

I'm not surprised! I'd be getting a bit (lot) antsy watching it rise too. I bet the farmer that owns that land is feeling more than a little stressed as well.

Has the water that Winnipeg released from its' dam reached you?

Manitoba sure suffers quickly from the rain....I don't think we have that much standing water here (tho I haven't been southeast for awhile). It seems especially cruel to have to suffer a near repeat of last year (and the year before, etc). :(

Yes, the wet hasn't gone away for a couple of years here, and the ground has never dried out enough to absorb much water. The only watering I was doing was for containers and some seedlings in new, loose soil.

This is what it would be like, looking a bit more to the left, without the water.

Oh boy are the mozzies gonna be nasty this year!!! :S

I'm sitting at reference desk and am swatting them as we speak (we have the doors open to let the new carpet chemical smells outta here).

Get ready to watch the water rising echoes.........the heavens just opened the gate! :(

It's really coming down hard and fast!!!

Let me go check the rain thingy madooee. We got another half inch last night and it started again at supper time. I suppose we'll have to get some of yours too. I think we will reach my panic line.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

This is unreal........I see we are *supposed* to hit the 30's soon. If'n it does our plants are going to put on one heck of a growth spurt! I just feel bad about those that starting flowering while we had the rain.

I wish I had been keeping an eye on my gauge.......it's always at the end of the day that I think of it and there has been evaporation by then.

Crossing fingers and toes it stops rising before your fence.

Got another inch. That makes it about five inches, give or take a hair. In what? three days?

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I hope this one stays away from you then. :S

Can't think of anywhere between us that needs it either.

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Well, we need it south of ya'll. Send me some, please!

Sure would if I could.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

John trust me we would be sooooooooooo happy to share! No need to send your heat in return however. ;)

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Guess what? We got a little rain this morning. At daybreak the temperature was 81F. Then a t-storm came through w/ some rain (cold front?) and the temp. dropped to 67F. Thanks Canada!

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

LOL, I doubt you were getting that cold front from way up here. And certainly not from my "neck of the woods". It has been sunny and in the high eighties (30C) lately and is supposed to continue all week. :D

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Canada is where most of our cold fronts originate. Very few from the Pacific Coast and those aren't nearly as interesting as the Canadian fronts. "Cold" being relative!

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

You are prolly quite accurate thanking the prairies John.....our temps have been cool the last couple of days.

I'm glad you got it and hope you get more. I

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

We just might. There is a tropical depression headed for the Texas coast. If I'm lucky we could get some rain from that here on the Red River.

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Don't you get some of your cold stuff from the North Eastern part of the States too, John? What am I saying...cold stuff! Maybe I should say cool, wet weather. I know you don't get really very much cold, as you mentioned, it's all relative. I have a stepson in Midland Texas, and it is pretty much bake time this time of the year, right? Stay cool. :)

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

No, ma'am, N. A. weather generally flows west to east. We have had weather come from the east but, that is very unusual. "Never" (?) from the northeast.

Bake time is right for sure! From now till mid september. Then we have a mini fall wet season similar to spring. Summer and winter are our dry seasons.
