Poor DH has been so very sick with food poisoning. This is the first time I have ever seen him sick with something like this so I was greatly concerned. I've been trying to do all the work, and take care of him, plus I wanted to be there to hold his head while he is hugging the toilet and rub his back to relax him enough to drop off to sleep. Today he is much better he was able to keep down the dry toast I fixed him for breakfast. Bless his heart and mine too since I'm about exhausted.

Whew yesterday was a little too much!!! It's a good thing I have keen sense of smell. I noticed a not "right" smell and started searching the kitchen for the source. It was the crockpot, the element had melted the plastic housing and if it had been on a counter it is very probable that it would have caught it on fire. We have an antique double drain-board porcelain coated steel sink. Thank Goodness!!!
Jazzman, our English Bulldog made a trip to the vet's yesterday to bred a female. I suppose it was the excitement plus the heat that caused him to over-heat by the time we arrived back home. We put cold towels on him, put a box fan right blowing on him, poured water over him and finally got him cooled down. Gracious future breedings will have to take place early, early AM.

I've had just about all the excitement around here that I can stand and I only told you half of it. Do you ever have times like this when it just seems everything is a CRISIS?? If so tell me about them so I won't feel alone.
I can do this, I can handle this, I think I need a chocolate bar, maybe a whole box of chocolate bars. Why don't they sell chocolate covered cherries when you need them.

Whew!!! What a week and it's only Tuesday.....
Oh Judy I can't tell you how many days I have that sound like that. Sorry to hear about your DH mine had food poisioning many years back oh my gosh that is awful for someone who is not a baby about getting sick much less my DH.
I would love to commiserate with you but today has been pretty good. Just woke up late so wasn't thinking when I went out to water. Forgot to take the plastic off the tub of miracle grow (wondered why it was still full when I got done). Went to take my dress out of the dryer only to find it was on "air fluff" and not dry. Had to iron it half dry and put it on half wet. Then went to grab my keys to head to work but they were no where to be found after searching everywhere they could possibly be and a few places they couldn't possibly be I found them in my DD purse she must have been out of gas and decided to use my car last night.. But I got to work with 1 minute to spare so not too bad of a day.
Hope yours gets better.
Sandy
P. S. there are chocolate covered cherries year round at 7-11 around here.
I now know what will happen when you forget you are boiling eggs ... They boil dry, then explode. That should get your attention, it did mine. Only one of my lazy Bullies even bothered to bark.
I had just fed and cleaned the puppies, rushed upstairs to send an email telling a person when Carlotta's puppy would be ready to be picked up so that he could make his airline reservations.I got sidetracked building them a web page so I could post their pictures and then heard a small explosion. Heart racing I ran downstairs, smoke, another one exploded, I quickly threw a towel over my arm to prevent being burned by flying egg and turned off the gas, slapped a lid on the pan and took it outside and put it in the middle of the drive so it wouldn't catch anything else on fire.
I can do this, I can handle ALL of this!!

Wow, you're having a bad week. Did you find some chocolate yet? I'm eating some Starbucks chocolate covered cherries right now just to get over the stress of imagining your week so far! They're pretty good.
I sure hope the rest of your week is MUCH better...and in the meantime, I think you need to hire an administrative assistant to help you keep track of all your responsibilities. I would lose my mind!
I'm close!! We live way out in the country so it's a long drive to get chocolate. lol lol
Doesn't everyone hide chocolates in the freezer for emergencies like this!!! I'll eat another piece of choco cake and think of you....
OH JUDY...
Regarding Jazzman... I've heard of getting "Hot and Bothered" but nothing like that LOL!!!!! Do you think if I put cold towels or poured water on DH when I'm "not in the mood" it would work??? LOL, LOL....
Judy, Judy...just rushed back from the grocery store and they're plumb out of chocolate covered cherries...said this woman from Tennessee ran in with a crazy look in her eye, held the store up by threatening them with a mean-looking snake she called "Slim"... cleaned the place out of ALL THE CHOCOLATE, had a truck ready at the back door and said she'd be back for more. They're frantic! The store manager is running around in circles saying "woe is me, woe is me" and the clerks are running this way and that....the assistant manager can't get the warehouse on the phone to get more chocolate!!! Even the guy that stocks the vegetables is hiding down behind the deli afraid to come out...
The woman at the deli counter told me that the woman said something about Pocohontos (like the Disney movie) before she jumped in the truck and roared away... Gee Judy, you ever hear something like this happening around you???
(o: -- :o) Lynne
ROTFLOL Lynne, You are marvelous!!!
So tell me how am I suppose to get the egg off the ceiling. I can't believe all of this...
Please notice I'm using DH's DG account, my computer crashed, restarted, crashed, restarted, crashed. Lord Have Mercy!!! This is just not my week!!
I found cooking chocolate in the pantry....... the candy bars from your area held me over until I could make it back here.
Hugs, Judy
Hmmmmmm... It seems it involves something like a paint scraper, and a dog...
Or,
You could get creative and decide to do the ceiling over in textured paint......LOL...
Sounds like you need a defrag...in fact I could probably use a defrag...
Just heard on the PO..lice scanner... Uh OH!!! They spotted that chocolate thief on her way back up Rt. 81 heading towards Pennsylvania .... Hmmmmm whats that? .... OH NO! Now shes held up the Hershey Chocolate Factory!!!! OH MAN... is nothing sacred??? What's that... they thought they had her surrounded on the roller coaster at Hershey Park but it turned out to be a man all tied up with a wig on...it was a ruse so she could make her getaway.... Wow, they missed her again!!! What a cunning chocolate thief!!! LOL.... Who was that masked woman????
:o)
Those crazy Bulldogs liked those exploded eggs. I peeled those that were not projectiles to the ceiling and although they were a more than a little scorched the Bullies did the Bully Butt Wiggle wanting more... they live to eat!!!
I choose to believe that this is all a dream...... I'm going to finish my chores, go to bed and look at the ceiling tomorrow, maybe I won't have to fetch the step ladder to scrap those eggs off the 9 ft ceiling.
Judy
CMoxon - Welcome to Dave's. This will not rub off!!
Judy
I'm up and hopeful that today will be a better day!! Can a person OD on chocolate??
Judy
I think od'ing just leads to napping, so you should be okay. Just remember to check the stove before you drift off! :)
EWWW! HATE food poisoning! Didn't eat Papa John's Pizza for YEARS because of that... Well, things can only go up from here right! :)
Oh and you can never never never OD on chocolate! It's fat and calorie free on top of that!
Nicole
I never realized Chocolate was a diet food!!! lol lol lol
I woke up this morning, I was hopeful it had all been a dream, but poor DH still isn't feeling up to par. I'm not looking at the ceiling.
I'm going to the "big city" for more chocolate!!!
Judy
Girl, you are a scream! I hate you are having such turmoil! I will keep you in my prayers! Chocolate doesn't do it for me though...I MUST have Blue Belle Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream! It is my Diet food for stress! At one time I thought perhaps you could just eat ice cream and NOTHING else and loose weight. Sounded reasonable to me. But I found out it was just a dream. Woke up one morning after five days IV of solu-medrol and Blue Belle Ice Cream, to find a PIE FACED, FAT woman had inhabited my body while I was sleeping! It took three months for the exocism to work! ;)
Love you!
Janet
Uh OH!!!! Police Scanner reports again. Crazy lady in a truck with TN plates heading up the interstate. Report warned all candy sellers to let her have what she wants and don't resist!!!
LOL.....Have a Great Day Judy!!! :o)
Hugs,
Lynne
This reminds me of those Snackwell's Devil food cookie ads. lol
I wonder if Willie Wonka does house calls?
If he won't, give me directions to the factory, PLEASE!!!
JanetS you should have seen me an my gimpy leg trying to stand on the incline to see if I could pull up the Oak Leaf Hydrangea.. I can't use a shovel unless it's a child's shovel and the ground is real loose. It was a no go, but I'm not giving up.
lol lol Somethimes I wonder if I "have a lick of sense" when this plant notion gets hold of me.... maybe it was the chocolate.

Judy, bet those eggs gave the bullies some nasty doggie gas! We about need industrial house fans when Emma gets something like that, LOL!
Actually I was cooking the eggs for the Bullies, regardless of what they eat they have gas. Whenever anyone asks what a Bully is like, I respond:
A 10 year old boy, they burped and pass gas in your face and never seem to hear a word you say!!!
Everyone have a good day!!!
Judy

Hah! Plus they snore, right? So maybe they're more like an 80-year-old man, LOL!
Oh My!!!! ROTFLOL
Or my mom! LOL!!!! Good thing she's not a member here!
(talking about the snoring of course!)
Gee, Nicole! I thought you were talking about the whole package! LOL! Belchin', fartin', snorin'...no droolin'???
I don't get close enough to her to see the drool! If we are ever in a position where we are in the same bed I just give her a kick and say quit that!
LOL!
Oh, drooling -- we can't forget drooling in that analogy!
A friend of mine has a big, ugly (so ugly he's cute) bull dog who drools like crazy. Everyone runs when he shakes his head! Eeeeeeew!
Saw the perfect t-shirt for Judy at the mall today. It said, "Give me all your chocolate, and no one gets hurt!"
(I really hate that place! Four hours of shopping and didn't buy a thing for myself; only one shirt for my husband. I could have used some chocolate!)
For those of you who think chocolate isn't good for you, check out this site: http://www.medscicommunications.com/just_for_fun.htm

Welll..... We have some older special orders here at my company (foodservice.) I'm doing everything I can to get rid of them so I dropped the price of a CASE of peanut M&M's to $25 to move them out. I ended up buying a case to sell to coworkers by the bag (14z.) Of course I had to get one for myself. Ate half yesterday, and most of the other half today - 99 fat grams in ONE BAG!!!!!!! I ended up giving the little bit left to another chocoholic here so I wouldn't eat anymore.....
Good Grief!! How many Whoppers is that anyway???
Nicole
Nichole,
You are just talking nasty, girl!!!
Judy
Judy,
Thought about you today while I was having lunch at my favorite coffee house. The waitress walked over to take my order, and she was wearing a t-shirt that said, "Drop all your chocolate, and no one gets hurt!" Almost the same as the shirt from the mall yesterday.
Jody
That is really cute!! Funny thing is I don't ever eat chocolate unless I'm stressed. lol lol
Thanks for thinking about me.
Judy
I still have that Black Cloud over my head!!
I know there was such a thing as a 'rain dance', I wonder if there is a 'black cloud be gone dance'.
Judy
HAHA!! Oh and today it is SO humid here.. I sit in my office at lunch rather than walking off last weeks M&M's!!
Well while you are just sitting there figure out a Black Cloud Be Gone Dance. lol lol lol
Hey I know - I will come to your house and do your stuff, you come to mine and help me get motivated to move! I haven't lifted a FINGER and feel so bad... You're only what - 10 hours from me? LOL!!!!
Haya, haya, HaYA, haya...black cloud be gone...haya, haya, HAYA haya...
I'm tryin' Judy!!! :o) Puff, puff, puff...
Lynne
