Solanaceae confusion - Acnistus vs Iochroma

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

There is apparently some confusion about Acnistus vs Iochroma. To quote Phillips and Rix:

Quoting:
The 3 genera Iochroma Benth., Dunalia Kunth, and Acnistus Schott are very similar, differing mainly in that Dunalia has shorter stamens with small cusps on the sides of the filaments. Acnistus is now restricted to 1 species, A. arborescens (L.) Schldl. from South America.

Phillips and Rix cite Iochroma australe and have some nice pictures on p. 390 of The Botanical Garden Volume 1. Other current references I have seen also say that Acnistus was renamed to Iochroma except A. arborescens.

To avoid confusion and duplication, the PF entry for Acnistus australis http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/1015/index.html should be renamed to Iochroma australe (with the synonym Acnistus australis) and the only species for Acnistus should be A. arborescens. To be complete, the other PF entries under Iochroma should be listed with the equivalent synonyms of Acnistus sp.

The reason I noticed this discrepancy is that pictures are being added for Acnistus australis
