I need a tree recommendation for Florida climate

I'm posting this question for a dear friend of mine. Can anyone help?

Can you recommend a good non-deciduous tree that is fast
growing, will survive this FL heat and the canopy won't get too huge?
I'd like to put a tree on the side of my house but don't want to
constantly battle the limbs growing too close to my pool screen house
(which I guess is about 7 feet or so from the area where I want to
plant).

Palms, and citrus, if I lived there i would have tons of them! Plus they come in most sizes so they can take that space and really fill it out well.
