Wow, bravo for you, what patience you have had to nurture this from seed. I am so impressed. A beautiful shrub too, it must be really satisfying to know you started this from seed. Is this your first year to see bloom?

Hello Lenjo,

No, it has been blooming for several years, and,
yes, it is very satisfying.

In 1995, I 'slipped' one 3-inch end, and the' K-2'
shrub is now six feet tall.

Propogating by cuttings I find so very satisfying but growing a shrub from seed just takes so much extra patience. I really don't have a satisfactory way to winter things through if they are not hardy to my zone. I don't keep heat in my GH.I did grow a cassia from seed sent to me by busybee and it was really fun. It grew pretty fast but wasn't hardy here.

The flowers are pale pink.

Patience? hmmm....well, I really wanted this
shrub so I had to be patient.

Lenjo, I live in Zone 4 and do not have a greenhouse.

I started the seed in Dec, planted the baby plant out in May,
then gave it an extra mulch for the winter. The slip I took
in May, kept it under lights until August, then planted
out..
