Did you ever find your pot?
I saw a gorgeous blue one yesterday in Green Mama's. It was about 3' 6" high and appeared to be square at the top and round at the bottom. I didn't get the price but as soon as I saw it I thought about this thread. Am I too late?
Pots and urns in the DFW area?
I was wondering the same thing! I saw some new ones at Home D just the other day!
Did you already get a new one, and how tall do you want, if not?
melanie
Nope- haven't gotten it yet. It's more a matter of $$ right now than anything. A $200 non-essential item isn't something I can justify right now! :) But to answer your questions- I want it to be 3-4 feet tall and I want oblong/thin as opposed to a huge fat one. I did find EXACTLY what I want already and I don't think I will find something similar for less than what it costs ($189). But I do appreciate any tips if you happen to see one somewhere!!! At this point I probably won't buy one until the fall when most places will mark them down. Thanks for thinking of me guys!!!!
what about tv for hubby? where have yo been? i've missed ya. that kampeferia (peacock ginger) I got from ebay turned out really great. BTW
Yeah, we had the big surprise party and he got that television... one reason I am broke right now! I am on the prowl for a new job though so hopefully things will get better soon on that front. :)
I have been busy so not much DG time. I am glad your Ebay purchase turned out ok! My kampeferia is planted by my pond and my dog (Apollo) is just freaked out by it. He barks and barks like crazy! I had the invisible fence turned off for a few minutes and in that time he lunged forward and ripped off two leaves and stomped them and barked and growled at them. Really odd! Well, maybe not. He does bark at something in my magnolia tree- same spot everytime. None of us can see it... not even our other dog who just looks at Apollo like he's nuts... and I am inclined to agree. :)
The pot I spotted in Green Mama's was exactly as you describe tall and slim with a squarish shape - and about 3'6'' tall. It might be worth a look and checking the price - you never know. Next time I'm that way I'll pop in. trouble is I'll have to keep my eyes shut or I'll come away with plants - I always spot something I MUST have there!!!

Carol, I can sooo relate! I don't like to tempt myself, but I just can't stay out of places like that. :)

I may have seen your pot today at Calloway's. It is oblong, about 3 ft tall cobalt blue with a light crackle in the the glaze over most of it. The top rim is a golden color rather like goldenrod. The price was $100 and they have 3 in Arlington.
They often have sales so if that sounds like what you are looking for, put them on your list. If you are like me there are things you'll "visit" until the price comes down.
cynthia
Thanks Cynthia- I tried the Calloways here in Dallas a couple of months ago and while they had tons of pots, they didn't have what I was looking for... sounds like the one in Arlington might though. I think I will hit the stores again in the fall when or whenever I hear they are having a sale.
Thanks for keeping an eye out for me guys, I do appreciate it!
Doan's is a small nursery on Beltline about 5 miles north of I-30 in Irving.
It's south of Irving Mall on the opposite (east) side of Beltline.
They have some nice pots there.
You might call & ask.
Best luck!
