It does seem that you need a lot of patience with HG. I keep hearing it's very slow to bloom. I want a nice double to cross with Butterfly, Rosamond and Pink Beauty this year. Assuming they'll bloom. (Because they're young) Any suggestions on what to try?

Mary, I have no idea. For me, it was just dumb luck! I think it likes to bloom in the cool (but not too cool) fall.

Beautiful pictures, Clare.

Thanks, Ada:-)

Too bad about the branch, but you are right.....it would be hard to tell where it came from. Such a nice full plant. It looks very pretty and nicely shaped. I hope it will be okay.

Thanks, Shirley. You would think that, if it had a virus, it wouldn't bloom so wonderfully, but maybe this is the one-last-flush-before-it-dies bloom -- probably not, but I have to keep an eye on it because it was so close to the large CG which had SB. The rings in the center of the wood bother me a little. I'll have to review the SB thread to see if that is characteristic or not.
