I bought this as Morning Glory - Variegated. lol, well labeled as always!
Is this Ipomoea nil? And if so, is this an uncommon plant? I love it- the leaves, the blooms, and how full the plant looks. I would love any special growing tips you have too. Thank you! Susanne
Ipomoea nil?
You do have Ipomoea nil. Could possibly be a Dwarf Picotee Creeper.
In Japan called: Sun Smile.
Treat as you would any other Morning Glory. Lots of Sun, don't over water, however, you'll need to water more often than normal since you have yours in a hanging basket, and NO Feeding. . . .AND, Enjoy!
Thank you emmagrace. It's such a great little flower, with beautiful foliage. I was unaware that you aren't supposed to feed mg's. Why is that?
Reason for not feeding Morning Glories is that you will end up with some
awesome foliage and very little and/or smaller blooms.
Morning Glories do not need any TLC, they prefer to simply be neglected
and they will always do their beautiful 'thing'!
They will, however, let you know when they need to be watered by wilting down.
So when that happens - don't panic, just water them.
You are in a zone where you can enjoy MG's for a longer growing season than many....
....as I am. I'm STILL planting them.
So, it's not too late to plant more for the year and still enjoy their beauty.
I am actually 'addicted' to Japanese MG's, along with BUNCHES of other folks.
You should take a look at this thread and you will see what I mean.....LOL
