To visit the Tuileries gardens in France in 1915, there’s a section in a book by today’s quoted author - after obtaining Henry Beston Sheahan’s book from the following link, visit the Tuileries gardens by clicking on Edit in the menu bar, scroll down to Find, type in Tuileries and click on Find Next. http://digital.library.upenn.edu/books/
I love the way this writer observes and writes about his surroundings, so you might like to save this book to your favorites to read later on. The site of these gardens had earlier been a pit where clay for red roofing tiles had been excavated in earlier centuries.
Two artists who painted the Tuileries gardens as it might have looked were Monet and Pissarro, who can be found at the following website: http://www.the-athenaeum.org/
I find artists on this website by going over to the right column and clicking on “View Artworks”. Then, as above, go through Edit, Find, type in the name of the artist, and hit Find Next. Click on the painting’s name next to the artist’s name when you get to it, and then, in this case, click on “All Artworks by Claude Monet”. Use your Find feature to find his paintings of Tuileries gardens. Have fun comparing Monet and Pissarro to each other on this subject.
Have included the Monet here. The Athenaeum welcomes everyone using and disseminating their images as long as they credit The Athenaeum.
PS - I copy The Athenaeum's titles exactly so others can find them, but there are many typos - They spell Tuileries sometimes with one "l" and sometimes with two "l", and other times you need to use your imagination.
