Bindweed vs. Morning Glory

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the difference between morning glory and bindweed? The plant file doesn't have a picture of bindweed.
Thanks,
AJ

"Bindweed" is a type of morning glory (in the same family)...it grows very fast and it is invasive. The kind that I have here (Texas) not only produces millions of little seeds but also produces tubers. Here is a picture of a purple "bindweed". I have it somewhat controlled in my yard and allow it only to take over my fences. It gives our farmers heck tho :(.....

Bindweed is convolvullus arvenis and most convolvulluses are not invasive or climbers. They stay along the ground and creep. The plant that climbs and we call morning glory like Heavenly Blue are ipomoeas. Is this any help?
