The flowers face downward. Here is a shot from underneath. Well, from as underneath as I could manage. LOL

Looks like citronella. A "tiger lily" look alike (except yellow)

I thought citronella at first, but these seem too large.

Truthfully, I'm confused. Is the Asiatic lily citronella that is listed in PlantFiles different from the heirloom lily citronella?

This lily is facing straight down, like the heirloom lily - but the flowers are too big and the foliage and plant structure seems wrong.

What other lilies face straight down?

Maybe George Slate or a martagon?

Here's another picture of George:

I was wishing for a martagon, but I don't think that's it. The foliage seems wrong.

It does look a lot like George Slate! The main difference is how these flowers face straight down, not outward at all . . .

Ya know how Asiatic lily buds start out pointing up and turn sideways or down as they mature? These don't. The buds are downfacing from the start and stay that way. In that last pic of George Slate you can see that there are buds pointing outward . . . on these the buds point down from the time they start to form. So, I don't think it's Asiatic. I don't know what to think of it . . .

Thanx for the help!

Here's another downward facing one, but I think the spots are too black. Look at the amabile var. luteum.

I think lincolnitess hit it right on the head - George Slate.

The bloom is too big and doesn't have enough recurve to be a martagon.
