Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris in California?

I've heard that the SDB's don't do well here because it doesn't get cold enough. Anyone have any tales to tell?

I have "little" iris.....don't know exactly what kind......leaves are about 8" tall and the flower is large, almost a big as a regular iris. Mine do great, but then I am colder here than you are Doss. You can have some to try if you like.

Thanks Karen, that would be fun. It does get colder in Modesto than here - oh those foggy days - but it's worth a try.

Yes, it does get a bit colder here, but what the heck, I bet they do fine for you! I am mailing some trades out at the beginning of the week, davemail me your addy and I will send you some little iris buddies.
