my hibiscus lost all its leaves last december, and i googled away to find the remedy. i found DG and the rest is history. "blue bayou" has been blooming non-stop since the beginning of may.
here's today's photo.
the flower that started it all =)
Wow! Great picture!
I know exactly what you mean.... I was looking for an answer to an Elephant ear question & Google sent me to DG, I got hung up on the Brug forum & had to join to ask questions. My E, Ear died but I now have 77 Brugs & a new 30X15 Green House. Been a DGer for 2 years. Bj
thanks, bj =).
i have a brug addiction also, but while they are still growing, i have to keep busy growing whatever costco carries. would you still like an EE? i have many that are sprouting now. i just don't know when's the best time to ship it. please let me know. i don't mind sharing. lol.
annapet
Sure, Annapet, that's a nice offer, if you have extras. Maybe I can trade you something. I bring mine in in the winter, otherwise they freeze here. Glad I built a larger GH or I'd be in real trouble! I have about 70 Brugs now counting the babies, Yikes! A lot are duplicates of seeds, but ya have to grow out each one to know what you are going to get, guess that's the fun of it!
I'm not sure when the best time to dig EEs is as I haven't ever had to dig them! I do like them tho, I have a large shade garden so they will fit right in. This is a shot entering my shade garden, I call it "LilliWok" there are 4 different wild lilies growing there. I work around them when planting.
Bj
oh, wow, that looks great. yeah, i can imagine EE's there for sure. i'll google away yo find out when's the best time to send out EE's.
the tallest brugs i have are about 14"-16" tall with 8" long leaves and chunky trunks. i am planting them along the fence. 2 down, 3 more to go. they are from seeds, and i have no idea what they are since my 3-year old son took out the markers. i hope they grow, grow, grow....
i just love starting seeds. you are correct: quite FUN! strever (dick) gave me some seeds, and the ones that didn't lose the markers are KP x RM seedlings. i have more success starting them in small pots than rockwool. maybe i just don't know how to use the latter.
=)
