The Pepto Pink Plot :-)

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

News Flash- This is reporter Ryan Beecrest in a small town in Northern California where the Grand Jury is secretly meeting, to bring an indictment in a case that even has Californians amazed. California, known as the land of fruits and nuts, is as famous for it’s cults as for its natural beauty.

Our secret source inside the Grand Jury tells us that they are gathering evidence to indict a member of this small town in what seems to be a plot to turn gardens everywhere Pepto Pink! The leader of this strange cult is said to be a pleasant woman, of a generous nature, who sends out boxes of her garden cuttings and seeds all over America. But is this generosity, or just part of the bigger plan to turn all things pink. Stay tuned for film at 11, where our cameras caught Kell, the alleged ringleader of the cult, putting a strange and slightly smelly fertilizer tea on some gorgeous pink plants.

Dateline San Diego: In a related case an alleged cult member going by the code name “mpabbott1”, was turned in by her husband after she maxed out her credit cards buying such plants as Butterfly, Equador Pink, Rosamond, and Pink Beauty. The nefarious cult member managed to escape and was last seen coming out of a garden center pushing a cart full of pink daisies, pink impatiens, and of course a flat of Dianthus; commonly know as “Pinks”. Scared bystanders said they heard her mumbling that she’d do anything to get hold of a Double Pink Brugmansia. Anything!

Late Breaking Newsflash: Our inside sources say that this plot to turn the world Pepto Pink has national, perhaps even international implications. What looks to outsiders as an innocent gardening club may be a cover for the worldwide domination of the color pink plot? Hybridizing leaders and growers hide behind innocent names such as Calalily, Monika, BrugAddict, and Brugnanny, now entice us with Double Pink Brugmansia with names such as Day Dreams and Fascination.

Can this plot be stopped? Do we even want it to be stopped…

Watch for more late breaking news as it happens.

Beecrest, Out!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL LOL. You pepto pink nut!!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

That IS the question...do we want it stopped? Do we want our children and grandchildren influenced by this unabashed generousity and beauty? Do we want THEM addicted to and by the same questionable gifts?

I think the government (whose?) should conduct a proper investigation...and perhaps amend the Constitution (whose?) to reflect the implications.

Thereforeheretowith.

Mary here ..... still on the run from the authorities. I've been secretly contacted by a high powered lawyer who is willing to defend me. He suggests a twist on the "Twinkie Defense". He'll go with the Hostess Snowball defense, since after all, they're PINK.
Gotta go, there's a security guard approaching the garden center.
On the run in Poway,
Mary

(for those of you who don't know what the Twinkie Defense is: A claim by a criminal defendant that at the time of the crime, he/she was of diminished mental capacity due to intake of too much sugar, as from eating "Twinkies," sugar-rich snacks.)

More pink although this picture is dim from the poor light -- we have had rain the last 4 days. I also posted some brug photos. Nothing exciting, just a plain white, but it is my first [and only blooming brug] and totally responsible for my brug addiction.

Speaking of pink...if you need a lawyer Mary, you need Elle Woods! LOL After all, pink is her color!

lol Delecie! (the link you listed).

Delecie, the homes in our neighborhood vary a little bit I think, but I know our home was built in 1904, and all the corner homes I believe were built around that same time. I've been learning that there are secret "shelves" in our home that were covered and painted. Not sure if we will ever bother looking for those. The people who retired and sold this house to Russ left alot of neat things in the basement. Old vintage records, books, even old Red Wing crocks which I've put to use for potting my plants in - I guess some of them are worth some money. They left us alot of neat antique furniture as well. Russ used to live next door and helped them take care of the place so they gave him a very good deal on the house and left alot of goodies.

I have my gardenia in it right now and just recently took a pic so here it is. I added brightness so you could see what it has on the crock. Sorry - but this flower is not pepto pink!
