Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Hello,

I live 1/4 mile inside Tennesses right inbetween Corinth & Walnut, MS. We do all our shopping etc. in Corinth & Tupelo, listen to Talk Radio, go to Flea Markets in MS, so we consider ourselves to be part of MS versus TN!!!

Where is Collins, MS?

Judy

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Hi, checking in from the coast!!! Practically next door neighbor to Roz, and not too far from RubainMS, JanetOS, DonnaB and Bonnie.

Actually, you have to watch out for Ely, but then again, he's from alabama, so thats to be expected, lol

Ocean Springs, MS(Zone 8b)

Hi,
Yes, we are a fun little group from the MS coast!!
Come down sometime and visit.
Ely is our "unofficial" bad one from Alabama, who causes trouble wherever he goes!! You know how those outsiders are always trying to fit in. LOL!!!!!!
Welcome to Dave's!!

Don't forget about me.

Vi

Hey, me too!
I'm in southeast Mississippi near the Alabama line.
I'm about two hours north of all that coast group but wish so bad
I lived down there. 8-) Hopefullly we'll be moving down that way
in about 2 years.
MississippiSkie your not but about an hour from me.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

do i hear ROUNDUP????

(sigh) and yes, we would even have to let our stepchild from alabama come, lol

Foley, AL

we need to have a micro-round up soon I have to much stuff...

ely

well shoot, I just went through Foley yesterday. I could have taken
some off your hands. (wink wink) 8-)

Ocean Springs, MS(Zone 9a)

Hello from the middle of the Mississippi Delta.

Dee

Foley, AL

gskinner, darn........ you could have posted....

maybe next time....

ely

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

I am Barbara from hattiesburg. We need a roundup. We have enough people. We have a huge state park, Johnson State park right outside Hattiesburg. They have cabins but I think they rent out fast and have a waiting list.

Hi donna-hope you are feeling better. I am in FL. Talk when I return.

Foley, AL

I think so Barbara, That would be a good area, I would Think that some al and lousiana would come. lets not have it in the peak of hurricane season.

ely

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Ely, I don't know why not everyone from FL, AL and LA end up in Hattiesburg during the hurricanes. LOL What do you think would be a good time.

Hattiesurg is a great central location, not to mention a great city.
I went to USM so I think it's wonderful. 8-)
This would be so fun, I could actually meet some DG people.
I'm just gonna throw a month out, October. It will be getting
a little cooler and Paul B Johnson park may not be so crowded then.
Just a thought.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

I'll go along with whatever is decided. I'm pretty much day to day right now and can't make concrete plans that far out.
Would we get a bigger turnout if it was closer to the coast? Down here we have the casinos which might be tempting for out of towners.
Barb, are you offering to organize in Hattiesburg? : )

N. Mississippi, MS(Zone 8a)

Hey - Anywhere would be good but another fun place would be near Tunica. Good casino's and close enough to Memphis TN that people could visit Graceland, Beil St., etc. Just a thought.

Hattiesburg or Coast sounds good to me. I'm like Jen, whenever sounds good too.
I just threw out October because I know some people like to plan in advance.
As for me, I'm free all summer.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Tunica is a little far for me to go, i think its close to 400 miles.

I think looking towards fall would be great, late Sept or early Oct? I know its hard to get cuttings and such rooted for the florala swap that is in april, so many plants havent even broken dormancy yet.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

depending on time of year and what is happening with my life. I hate to commit to organizing because my mother just found out her cancer has matastasized (spelling). My life will not be my own.
Sorry, but Tunica is to far away for me. Fall sound good. We can start spreading the word and see how many people would be interested. Oct. might be better. It will have started to cool a little.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

barb, sorry to hear about your mom, i know it must be tough.

Someone want to grab the reins and run with it? I would think either hattiesburg or the gulf coast.

Ocean Springs, MS(Zone 9a)

OOOH. Either one would be great. But for the convenience of the North MS crowd...perhaps Hattiesburg would be the best choice.

Just my 2 cents.. :)

Dee

Foley, AL

I think hastties burg would be a good place. I can help co orginize it. if needed I don't live over there so I don't know who to call etc...

or tell me when and where I will call and book it....LOL

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

LOL I tried October last year and the Ivan got many of us the weekend before I think. I was so down hearted and then the planned day was so perfect.

(((Barb))) so sorry to hear about your Mom. You have been through so much lately.

I can't commit to anything right now as I don't know how I will be but hope to be well enough if nothing more than visiting with everyone. I know I can't do any plants unless it is just cuttings as I can't do any lifting, bending, or twisting for 3 months minimum.

Foley, AL

Hugs donna... how are you your card is going in the mail tomorrow... donna I got you a varigated justica and something called fruit cocktail....

just put janet and jen to work for ya....

Sandra

N. Mississippi, MS(Zone 8a)

Ok, so has anyone decided who is going to host this? I need to know who to send my info to. I am a bit new to DG and this will be my first roundup so I need some direction on what to do. Is it ok if I just bring a bunch of dandelion cuttings?? ;-) lol
