I still get confused about watering. I have heard they love heat and water, just not wet feet, so I do water often. I believe I have good drainage. I live in Southern Louisiana and it gets hot. The pots are sitting on concrete. I water them every other day or so unless it rains. They look great so far...no blooms yet :(

Then I hear to mist them alot and water sparingly.

I am not complaining about all the advice, I am just so afraid to make a mistake, I get nervous!!! Am not looking forward to my first overwinter experience!!!!

CaCajun, I water every day too. As long as you have good drainage, plumerias love water! Rooted plants, that is, love water. Cuttings, while rooting, do not and will rot if given too much. While cuttings are rooting they should be watered sparingly and misted. Also, in the winter, depending upon where you live and where your plumies spend the winter, rooted plants should be watered less. Your plumerias will do fine this winter. Do you have a portable greenhouse or a place of protection from the frost in your area? They would probably do very well against the house or under a covered patio, etc., in your zone. It's the temps under 30 which will do damage.

Clare_CA, coming from California (Westlake Village to be exact) to Louisiana, I was surprised at just how cold it does get here. I will have to bring them inside because of the cold weather (it definately can get below freezing), it doesn't last long, but it is moist all year long. I will probably take the roots out of the the soil like your friend, and put them in a closet. Thanks for your advice.

P.S. My father is flying in from Westlake to New Orleans tonight for a visit.
