Mud Puddles in JUNE!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

I can hardly believe that I have puddles of water this time of year! We were all dried out and parched and now everything is fresh again. I just love a summer rain!

Is Zany out there making mud pies? LOL

TIM! Put thos binnoculars away and quit spying! Come on over and play in the mud! it feels great between the toes...all squishy and warm!

(Zone 5a)

Zanyy I wish I could have given you all of our rain, we had rain for about seven weeks straight, from the last week in April until the fisrt week in June. I had to reseed a few times and lost two of my roses, too much flooding. It is over now and summer is wonderful! I love to sit out in the yard in the evenings and just smell all the different fragances, almost every plant I have has a scent to it. It's like aroma therapy for the mind and body, with the soft trickeling sound of water from the water fountain, the soft candle lights, and the brids singing their little mating songs....AAAHHH!!! It's like a little piece of heaven, you would never guess that I live on a main street with noisey cars going by all the time. Yes Zanny summer is grand!!! :)

Oooh, I'd love to squish in a mudpuddle! Maybe I'll have to make my own, hee hee! I'm with Windsurffer with that rain. I'd have given you plenty back a few weeks ago; back then mudpuddle squishing didn't seem nearly so romantic and idea!

mud puddles? oh to go back to the day when i can go romping and splashing. thats not nice making tim eat mud pie, no nutrient value whatsoever! add a few worms :-)

(Zone 5a)

Tim old boy I think your out numbered here, so better keep away form Zanny's yard unless you like mud pies for dinner lol. I was up to my ankles in mud this last month, I stepped into the garden and started to sink down into the ground....I started to call Stephen King and ask him if he had plans on burying me alive lol
Gardenwife it seems that all the people in zone 5 got it real bad this year, I hope next year is not a repeat.

Well the puddles are dried up and the mud is all gone
I put the worms in the flowersbeds where they belong
But I could not get the mud out from between my toes
And I still have a smudge on the tip of my nose.
I must admit it was a whole lot of fun
watching my mud pies dry up in the sun.

Into each "pie" I pressed wildflower seeds
Then I tossed them into the thistles and weeds.
I hope that when the rains come again in the fall
I'll see wild flowers growing all pretty and tall!

Uh we are expecting the rain here today and tomorrow.

(Zone 5a)

Let's hear it for our poet Zanny! YAAYY!!WOO WOO!!! Zanny you never cease to make me smile and all I can say is..."YOU GO GIRL!" I have had a lot of fun reading all of your answers in this form and I enjoyed everyone of them.
Tim, I see you took my advice and stayed away from Zanny's yard, but what's this about the rain? Well Tim old chap... it just doesn't seem to be your week at all. Are you alright or did you try to catch your car? hee! hee!
MzM I love your little tale of the "Missing Neighbor's"
now just remember I get 75% of the profits from the book rights...after all it was me that the mud ate first SWAEG /;)
Oh I forgot to ask Zanny did you add any herbs to your mud pies? if so just hold on I'll be over for a herb mud bath. I know it dried up BUT! we can add some water...that's what keeps me young and good looking SWAW.

Tim! You just have to learn to swim! I remember that just a short time ago I was wishing the rain would stop...but that was different...cold winter rains are just no fun but the warm summer rains are great...but then again my car is not floating in the parking lot! Hope you get a dry spell soon! But when you get the sun again take a while to play in the mud...I highly reccomend it as a way to bring out the kid in you!

As for the herbal mud pies....only caledula and borage this time around....but I do mud balls for the fields all summer long. What herbs would you like in yours wind?
