I don't have any koi, but this weekend my husband and I are building a 16'x10' goldfish (shubunkins) pond. Once we have the fish in we'll post some pictures.

Oak Grove, MN(Zone 4a)

I adore koi! I have one that is six years old now. He is stunted from living in the house so much and is not very big, but he is pretty. I will try to get some photos of them, the computer ate all my saved photos in January.

Look forward to seeing your photos! Here's mine...

That's pretty! I like your waterfall. How many gallons is your pond?

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

We have 5000 gallons, it's 4 ft. deep and there's 70 koi in there as well as a few in a quarantine tank behind the pond you probably can't see. Send me a picture of your koi.

Here is our pond we finished in October. We had a 100 gal. plastic one the previous owner left. In it lived two fancy tailed goldfish (one gold, one white w/ black spots), and one comet goldfish. There must be a pair among those three because the first spring we were here they spawned & only two babies survived but then we lost them over winter. Last year they spawned again & two more babies survived which we transfered to the new pond. We purchased two shubunkins (sp. ?) and one disappeared, I'm guessing one of the frogs ate them (we've got a pair of bullfrogs). I recently purchased 5 butterfly kois but lost one so now four remain. They are only about 4" long. Today my local feed store is having a fish sale so I plan to buy a couple regular Koi to add. I paid $8 for the butterfly's & I hear the ones being sold today will be about $14 but they atleast 8". Walmart around here sell Koi fish pretty inexpensively but they are always sick with ick or something.... I don't want to risk getting my fish sick even though their price is cheap. I'm so excited, I'll post more photos when I pick them up later today.

In the meantime here is a photo of our pond.

I don't know who enjoys watching the fish more, me or him? Icehouse likes to sit near the edge & watch the fish swim by. On the top corner, you can see the white w/ black speckled fancy tailed goldfish & one of the baby butterfly Koi. Two are a metallic white & the other two are a metallic yellow....very pretty.

weegy - love your waterfall!

Fish are tough to photograph, usually they won't pose, but earlier this year one of my Platinums came up to have a talk about when was the food gonna be served.

This is our pond that was built 5/04. We absolutely love it---sooooo entertaining! Ponds should be tax deductible due to their medicinal qualities!! Relaxation! Reduced blood pressure! Bet you can name some more benefits?

Last month, we lost Nemo, our 10" platinum koi -----to a racoon? He had a large yellow spot on his head. So sad---especially after he made it through his first IOWA winter!!

We still have MaryKay, a smaller pale yellow koi with bright red LIPSTICK! I'm still trying to get a good photo of that! (:>)

Added three 5" koi in May. Goldie is a very glittery really gold one. Spot is a red and white spotted one. Tiger is a black and red and white one. None are the expensive variety.

And then we have six 6" goldfish---very bright red/orange.

I hope these koi will live a very long time!! (:>) It's really hard to select a fish photo from thumbnail images! Can't really tell if it's one of the good photos.

OHHHHHHHHH, what wonderful ponds and fish!!!! Beautiful fish:) I have a natural pond 180 ft. X 60 ft. I put in some Koi last year and the darn herons had a buffet :( I have about 3 Koi left, the largest being about 9" :) I am afraid to let them get too close for their floating food as the darn birds will get them :( If the pond was a bit smaller I would get a net to put over it!
There is a fella that comes around several times a summer with a huge container full of Koi!! I can hardly wait to see what he has for sale this time?

Well, I finally got a couple of pictures with the fish in them. Here's one.

Thanks for the photos, if I could figure out why my pictures won't upload, I'll send you a picture of my 70 koi!
Koi will live 80 years, so I'm told. That means my great, great, great, grandchildren will be enjoying them when I can't!
