Spring/Summer Secret Plant Trade??

N., CA(Zone 9a)

) - :

Clearfield, PA(Zone 5a)

Eyes, I, too, am going to have to back out of this swap. Thanks anyhow! Sandy

West Central, WI(Zone 4a)

Wondering about the dates for this....will the name exhanges be done on 6/15.........or should the trades be out by then? (if that's the case...then, do we know when the names will be drawn)
I'm such a planner...........can't help myself!

Thank you!

Walhalla, SC(Zone 7a)

Eyes, i am going to drop out too, Just too many different opinions going on.
Good LUCK guys!
Jaimee

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

My list is just to give an idea or two. I like lots of things and will be pretty happy with what I get.

Orangeville, PA(Zone 6a)

Me too! On my list are things I'd like to get sometime in the future but not necessarily from my secret gardener "Santa". :) It's just to give an idea of what "flavors" I like. :)

I'm easy......but don't spread that around ;)

Jenn "Grennthumber"

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

I'll revise my original post. Cutoff doe joining will be June 10. I will have all names sent out by June 15. All trades MUST BE MAILED by June30, 2005.

"eyes"

Floresville, TX(Zone 9a)

My list too is not a "This is all I want and it must be one of them" thing, just things I would like. As a person who sometimes buys the half dead leftover bulbs and overwatered orchids from home depot and the grocery store (to revive them lol), I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever I get:-)

West Central, WI(Zone 4a)

Eyes--thanks for the update.............I'm ready!

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Eyes,

I would like to join up too. It's been a while since I've done this now.

Okay, for my do not wants: As with most, No Cannas
No common tropicals and no house plants

I have a zone 9 bed with hostas, heucheras and violas so I push that zone thing just a bit.

I like the unusual and uncommon in tropicals
I would really like plants that when they say they like "full sun" they really mean it. Our sun, full day is too much for many perennials. I have a drybed for sedums and succulents, unusual ones.

This may seem vague, but if my trader is from the south, she/he will know what I am talking about. If you are from the north, it's wide open.

Molly
:^)))

I'm in! I'm working on my wish list and will post later. What a fun idea!

Lafayette, IN(Zone 5a)

I love these:
gladiola bulbs
dahlia bulbs
canna-any
calla-any
EE-any
any spring bulbs
tuberose bulbs
any lily bulb-Asiatic, Oriental etc.
hosta-love the mini's!
daylily-Daughter of Magic, Wild Horses, Charlene, any spider form
iris-japanese, siberian, louisian, dutch, any size bearded

and I am not a picky person by any means! will love whatever is sent my way!

deb

Westminster, MD(Zone 6b)

Oh, me too, for sure!! Just did one of these with the local MG's and got lots more things than I can use -- but what great fun, and what amazingly generous plant-sharing.

I'm sure I'd like most things, but no houseplants and no vines (except datura), and no orange-- (for some reason the color makes me growl).

I'd like
woodland plants -especially celandine poppy & woodland phlox
penstemons, both tall and alpines
rock garden plants
heathers
acanthus hungaricus
more penstemons
sedum except Autumn Joy
phlox paniculata
browallia (an annual that I can't find -- the blue one)
more penstemons
gaura
crocosmia -- my Lucifer died

Oh, this is going to be fun!! (Did I mention penstemon?)

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

June 15-30 ;(

I am leaving for a family vacation on the 17th and coming home the 29th. With that, i sadly remove my name from the list.

Thank you so much for setting this up Eyes! Count me in next time.

Melissa

Coventry, RI(Zone 6a)

Can I play too? I'm new too, and someone told me about this (thx RDT!) I have a stolen day off, and the weather is perfect, so I will have to post wishes later. But, for the most part, if it will live in RI I have the perfect spot for it.

Ijamsville, MD(Zone 6b)

I am in Eyes. I have a big empty bed just waiting for some perennials/shrubs/etc.

No houseplants, canna's or asiatic lilies please.

Here are some ideas in my head but all zone friendly plants will be loved!

-Kim

peony poppies
speedwell
lambs ear
red yarrow
tree peony
joe pye weed
alium bulbs
ajuga
clematis
Virginia spiderwort-sweet kate

false indigo
spanish lavender/bee

I'm afraid I will have to withdraw from this one. Things have come up.

Thank you "Eyes" maybe I can next time.

Molly

North Adams, MI(Zone 5b)

I would love to join in.
I am pretty new to gardening so I will be happy with anything except houseplants, they don't like me very much!!
Thanks,
Mindy

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

I am new to this. Do I just go dig up something in the yard and I will mail that? Will it survive mailing in a box? Can we send seeds also or does it have to be an actual plant?

Thanks,
Gwen

Southwestern, OH(Zone 6b)

I have to withdraw as well. Too much going on right now. Sorry!

Ijamsville, MD(Zone 6b)

How many do we have "Eyes"? Are there enough people to play?

-Kim

Here's my 'wishlist'. It's long because I have a lot of wishes. I'm also easy to please.

Aster laevis 'Bluebird'
Rooted cuttings of Japanese variagated willow- Salix integra 'Hakuro-nishiki'
Ghost fern -Arythrium 'ghost'
Digitalis 'Apricot Beauty' or another apricot colored one
Digitalis obscura - sunset foxglove
Veronica 'Crater Lake'
Hosta 'June'
Virginia bluebells - Mertensia virginica
Primula 'Millers Crimson'
Verbascum 'Southern charm', 'Flush of White', or anything like it
Verbascum 'Pink Princess' or anything like it
rooted curly willow
Abutilon megapotamicum 'Seashell' (flowering maple) or "voodoo"
Large flowered deeply colored penstemon of any variety (just not orange)
Echinacea 'Ruby Star'
Geum triflorum - prairie smoke
tall agapanthus
Egyptian papyrus
Hebe cupressoides - whipcord hebe
Hydrangea 'Geoffrey Chadbund'
Hydrangea 'Libelle'.('Dragonfly')
Hydrangea 'Paris'
Hydrangea 'Sensation'
Hydrangea serrata 'Miyama Yae-murasaki'
Iris x 'Holden Clough'
Nepeta 'Souvenir d' Andre Chaudron'
Omphalodes 'Parisian Skies'
Phlomis cashmeriana
Phlox 'David'
Phygelius x rectus 'African Queen'
Hardy white ginger
Sysrinchium striatum 'varigatum' - variagated yellow eye grass

Guess I better add what I don't need or want: no houseplants, cannas, roses, pink tiarellas, creeping phlox, catmint 'walker's low', or mint. This wish list is exactly that: "I wish I could find all these things". I'm open to new and exciting things and probably have a place for it! I do hope we have enough people! This will be fun!

Is it a good idea to specify how large the divisions should be? Like '6 inch pot size' or, 1 fan, something like that?

Eyes,

something has come up and I don't want to but car problems have to come first.

Sorry,
Sandy ^8^

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Looks like this one came at a bad time for a lot of folks. I too, must pass the baton on to someone else. New health issues will not permit to continue here, but if anyone is willing to take over so that others are not dissappointed, it would be most gratefully appreciated.

"eyes"

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

I'm so sorry to hear about your health issues. I really hope it is nothing too bad. I just did the secret hosta trade, and would be glad to do this one if no one else would like to. I'm also doing the 12 month long swap, so what's one more?

N., CA(Zone 9a)

Thank you, Carmen, for stepping up! You sure have a lot on your plate. Let me know if you need any help.
~Rachael

Austell, GA(Zone 7a)

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thank you pins! All of us in this trade owe you a debt of gratitude.

MAYBE WE SHOULD ALL SEND PINS SOMETHING SHE REALLY WANTS TO PROVE OUR GRATITUDE????????

N., CA(Zone 9a)

I agree!! What does Pins REALLY want?

I'm glad it's on! Yes, Pins, what do you crave?

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

You guys are so funny! You made me laugh this morning, just thinking about what I crave in the garden. I like your thought process, though. (That's not an endorsement to send me something - totally not necessary.)

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Maybe we can all agree to send pins our favorite named daylily??????????????????????
And the icing on the cake would be two fans of it!

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

Okay, folks. I just heard from "eyes" and we'll just start from here. Everyone who wants to participate, please send me your physical address on D-mail. Use S/S Secret Trade so I can differentiate it from the Twelve Month Swap that I'm also hosting.

I'm psyched! Ready? Set? Goooooooooo......

Englishtown, NJ(Zone 6b)

So cool - thanks for helping out - my e-mail is on it's way!

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Why are so many backing out? I am still in.

Lafayette, IN(Zone 5a)

I'm still in.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

It's still on. Pins2006 has taken the reins. Please re-send all your data to her. Carmen, dear, I believe it would be best to start a thread for regrouping this trade, and set your own stipulations on it. Y'all have fun now!
