When do you transfer from filter paper to tray?

I am starting to see some germination from the seeds I put on filter paper. Some of the erythrinas have a pretty good root, other species are showing the beginnings. How long do you wait to move them to the trays which I have prepared and numbered to correspond to the filter paper numbers?

I generally start potting them up as soon as I see the root emerge. In my opinion, it lessens the risks of transplant shock and also the chances of breaking off the root.
