WOW Kristi, that is just beautiful. And as usual, your garden is just lovely!!

Ruthie is looking more and more like Red but twice the size. Red has a bud on her and she is right next to Ruthie. We shall see. I tell you she was pink. LOL. Why can't I just have a dark pink brug??? Even Susanne is starting to look orange to me. LOL

What do you think??
Edited to say this is Ruthie not Susanne.

I don't see any orange.. looks pink

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

They both look like my Orange Punch nail polish, without the shine. Susanne a little darker orange. I LOVE the color of both brugs! Maybe it's your camera - I've had quite a few color disappointments with the digitals, the two I have just are not as true as I'd like. For example, I took some digitals of my pool, which is a beautiful aqua, and it looked green, ugh!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Sorry, I was unclear. I have no pic of Susanne posted yet. I am having trouble getting a good pic of Susanne. She is in the shade under other brugs and the color is off. I will take one of her later and in the dark to get a better shot.

No Ruthie is this color, Sherry. I am so shocked everytime I look across the yard at Ruthie. This is the mature flower color. She gets darker everyday.

What a gorgeous colour, kell. Almost and antiqued red papaya on my screen. Scrumptious!

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

I don't see any orange, looks light red on my screen.

A real beauty, Kell. Ya done good.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Very pretty!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Yep, Kell, each photo seems to be more red, very little coral or orange in the third photo. I'm nutz for pink and red, but I love orange just as much, coral too...

Crumpler, WV

Kell, Do you have the color chart to compare Ruthie's color to? I think Monika said that when taking the color readings with the chart, it should be done in full sun.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Boy, Kell, all your hard work is really paying off. You are getting some real beauties.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Kell, it's not pink so send it to me. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Ada!! Today it is back to being a lighter true pink!! It is getting colder, a storm is moving in. We are having such weird weather. I t is 57 degrees right now. I hear it is going to go into the 40s.

I just took this picture of Susie's Susanne that Tracey grew out for her. It is a stunner. I have seen her much darker elsewhere in pictures. She still is gorgeous here. The older bloom is more orange, the newer one is very pink. Her pink tendrils have reached my heart. LOL

Beautiful Kell, and it looks as if they have pollination tags already.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

That's what I thought too, Linda, off to a great start, Kell, and I bet you have lots more already in the making, so exciting!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, it is gorgeous!! Please don't put it in that pink pepto pot, too much orange and they would clash.
Mel, Bleu has been waiting on those pink pots to arrive, he wants to christen them!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Poor Bleu is going to be the escape goat again. LOL

Be still my heart! Talk about GORGEOUS dark pink blooms!!! Woozers!!!

Ada, I wonder if Bleu knew what I was saying about him if he would still like me? He DID step on a coleus yesterday, then when he realized he was in trouble he stepped on two more trying to get out of the garden. His feet are so big!

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

Wow, Kell! The blooms are breathtaking!

Kell,
What a beautiful dark pink! I was beginning to wonder if darker colors were possible in Brugmansias. Wow!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks all, this brug is very special I think. I am so thilled to have her. I have her near Susanne and I am going nuts looking at these 2 big girls. I can't wait for their babies.

Yesterday, on a brand new bloom, she had the a great pink skirt. Not orangey at all. LOL Today she is even darker but the weather here is very bad now. I hope my brug flowers are not destroyed!!

Last night I went out to try to get a good picture of Susanne who is now a great pink , and the smell was overwehlming. I have so many brugs flowering. It was not pleasant!!

Hey Susie, poor Bleu framed again. I say buy the boy some foam slippers. LOL

Here is a just opened bloom on Ruthie yesterday. It will be interesting to see if she turns orangey with age.

Oh Kell, that's gorgeous. Hope the storm didn't destroy it.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

kell...this one is not orangy at all...it is a beautiful sight...I even am getting goose bumps looking at it!! This one is a true winner!!! You go you pink girl you!!!

Knoxville, TN

Kell, that takes my breath away! It is amazing.
Susie, you must quit framing Bleu. We all know you are the one with the big feet!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Susie, you never know. Those dogs are smarter than we like to think they are. LOL This choc. lab has the biggest feet and she is so clumsy. Dogs are so funny and funny looking when they're going through this growing stage. They just look like they don't know what to do with themselves.

Kell, the blooms are beautiful. Your Pepto garden is going to be so full this year.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

The flower looks huge from that last photo Kell!!

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I had to laugh when I read your post Kell. That is what it is like when my husband goes to the nursery with me. And when he got the credit card bills this month he about freaked. Of course most of it was for the H.d's, Orchard nursery and Reagans. I keep telling him that I have to do most of my buying in the Spring, but he isn't believing it.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks all. I am very happy with this one. I was getting a little sick of brugs and this brought my interest back. My husband says if you have see one you have seen them all. I think that is where my mind went, it got filled up with so many details of the differences of one brug from the other. You know, most normal people would not care even a wee bit.

Deb, it is huge. It is 14 inches long and 10 inches across its skirt from end of tendril to end of tendril.

Thanks Linda, they all made it thru the storm. Though we may have another tonight. I am not sure. The sun is out for the last 10 minutes.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

We need more pictures Kell!
You won't believe what Bleu dug up today. I was putting gypsum around some plants(we have salt in the water and gypsum absorbs some of it) and he started acting so weird. He had an old raw-hide bone buried in the flowerbed. It was all yuckie and moldy. He wanted to take it in the house!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You need to train him to dig up old money or diamonds!! Forget old fake bones Suz. I have been talking a lot about your Susanne, Susie. Have your ears been burning?

Only for you would go out in this muckie weather and take a not so picture perfect pic of Ruthie. She is looking a bit like a sad sack. A new bloom is a so so color and the old ones are hanging all over looking a bit bleached out with ragged rotting ends. I would clean her up but I do not want to disturb her pod making process. LOL I t is so cold here, 64 and overcast with occ'l sprinkles. This weekend we are heading into hot weather.

Come to TX Kell, it's 90, sunny, no rain in sight.

If my fat would not melt, I would be there in a heart beat. Then again, maybe that sounds good. My only hope. LOL.
