Searching synonyms

Hey, Dave - how close are we to adding synonyms (both botanical and cultivar names) to the fields the search looks at? I've noticed a slight increase in duplicate entries, which I'm guessing may be attributable to the search results not including synonyms...

Yep....I've run across it a few times when searching and just knew it had to be in the PF so before I add it under the name I know it I've searched on Cultivar name only and generally find it under a synonym. Very time consuming for me....can only imagine the time the editors spend on it.

The old (and still available) "generalized search" does look through those fields.

What I'm hoping Dave can do in the newer search function is to expand the search to the corresponding fields - for example, if you search the cultivar field, the search results would include matches found in the "addtional cultivar information" field.
