The first time i tried propagating S. apiana with a equal mix of peat, perlite and vermiculite I got no germination. This time using coir instead of peat in the same proportion, it is looking like I will get pretty good germination. Different seed source, but that is about the only difference. I wonder why, better seed or the coir. The other seed from the supplier did just fine the first time around.
Coir works for Salvia apiana
