It seems like one day I could walk down a path easily and the next I had to literally bend way over to scoot under Arborea. No path left. I can't imagine how big she would grow if she were directly in the ground.
Suddenly Arborea really took off
You lucky Gal!! My Fav!!
I had one of those at one time. I won't say what happened to it. YOurs looks great!
Whew!! I have been looking at buds on mine for over a month.
Thanks Root. How is yours doing? I remember last year it looked just great. I sent you yours, didn't I?
Hey Susie, I wonder who I got mine from? LOL. I just sent some of this to Deb yesterday. It gets around. It is one of my top favorites. If I could bottle that smell, I would be not only be rich but so happy! I would cover myself in it, I love it that much
Poor Bleu, I tell you he is being framed but again! LOL
How big is yours now Root. Post a pic. Please.

Beautiful plant Kell - is Arborea used for a lot of hybridization attempts?
I gotta ask - can you describe the fragrance?
*Grape Koolaid* Wow Kell she looks great! The big pretty abultilon beside looks good too... Couldn't resist. Root did you ever get the pollen off your nose?
Oh Blaine, the smell is incredible. I really do not enjoy lots of the scent of brugs, but Arborea is just incredible. I can smell it all over my yard at night. I wish I had the words that could conjure it up for you. .
All those pods are self pollinated. Last year I made an all out attempt to pollinate it with my different sangs and vulcanicolas. I even would cut open the very young and immature bloom and take out its anthers, then let it mature and pollinate it. However, I did a few control buds also and to my dismay they podded also without being pollinated. So I never could be sure which or if any were cross pollinated. I do have some seedlings growing so I will see about those when they bloom.
You can't use other pollen on it, so most people do not have sangs or vulcanicolas to use. I wish more people would use it and would be more successful than I was. I would love a colored arborea just like the white one. It has such flair and style. I love the leaves also.
Hey Trace. Now I really need to go empty my car and take some pics for you. You and Susie are new mothers. Think pink. And delicate. LOL
Like that abutilon?? It is taller than my house. Very old. Very undemanding. I ignore it toally. Do not even water it.
I must go buy some grape koolaide ASAP. I never drank that as a kid. I was koolaide deprived.
That is what the smell reminds me off Kell, buy a pack just to smell it and see. I love arborea. Thinking pink...
I bet that Abutilon is a site in full bloom.
Gorgeous, Kell, just gorgeous. I wish I had smell-o-vision.
I am thinking pink(hope it's not a pink pot).
Root, I like those pots that Monica got. Those are nice.
ROTFL Susie.... You are so mean. Poor Kell, she will never show you her pots again!
Oh, Kell, that's amazing. Those seed pods look like limes.
I am so close to admitting I have no taste. LOL nah................. my pretty pink pepto pot is beauteous.
Root, I love those pots. Good price. In the heat of the summer, I buy a big plastic saucer and fill it with water after I water the plant. It keeps the clay wet so it doesn't leach out the water from the soil. I get to go longer between watering.
Jackie, you would be just thrilled if you got a whiff.
Kell, that is a great idea for clay pots.
Another lovely plant kell, and those buds sure are different, fat little devils :)
I have another bloom on Isobel, I just love the smell of her in the evening.
Thanks Kell,I will be sure to do that.
My arborea looks like a bonsi next to yours, Kell! What a beautiful plant!!
I can't believe Susie frames Bueu for ever plant she kills. He is such a poor little cold nose puppy. Poor Bleu.
Mine hasn't bloomed yet; it's my first year with it. I've ordered several sangs ( I'm compleatly Brug crazy, which lets me admit I have an A/C unit in the GH) and have a friend who will send me me sang pollen until my own (hopefully !) bloom.
I saw Brugs at wall mart yesterday marked as white Arborea, and was tempted to buy one just to see if it really was what it says . Nah. I decided I could do the same thing at ebay for less than $19. Nothing to gain either way.
Those are the cutest pods I've ever seen!!
I see those here too, Lagata. And they are not true arboreas I bet, look at their leaves. You will love it when yours blooms. It is my favorite for scent. Absolutely. I wish you great luck in pollinating them. I hope you get great colored ones from the crosses. We could use some more colors that smelled like Arborea..
Linda the seedpods are so attractive on this one and they cover it. Adds interest. I love to rub them.
Doris, in my next box to you I will add this one. I sent out a few yesterday, so I am getting it together.
Poor poor Bleu!! Can you imagine being Susie's sibling Mel, growing up?? You would not have a chance, esp with her great ability to make her made up stuff sound so believable.
I know Kell. Susie has gotten me one too many times with her stories! You gotta watch her!!
It's lovely Kell and so is your garden! Those seed pods are too cute. :)
Kell, my siblings still love me!
Kell, your tree is amazing! That is on my must-have list for some time in the future when I have more room.
Kell it is, I agree with Clare wow! But what doesn't look good that you've grown lol! You got the special touch :)
I lost my Aborea seed, it turned to mush for some reason...I waited and waited on a few seeds to come up and none did :-(
Kell, what a beautiful and such a big Arborea. You are so lucky to have the California weather which they like. I know that the Arboreas like less heat than the other brugs. Lucky you........all that wonderful fragrance.
So do we all Susie. We love you to pieces!! LOL
Thanks all. This year I am going to pot her in the ground. Can you imagine the size then? I just have to find an empty corner.
My little one is about 5 feet tall and setting buds , I can hardly wait.
Kell, what size container do you have her in?
Oh a big pot, Scoot. I think 24 inches. This one has great leaves too. Nice fuzzy dark green.
She's going in the ground next week */;-)
I think I need to make room in my garden for this one. I just sent you an email, Kell:-)
Kell I love it when I get mail from you, I will not say 'thank you' as the English are superspicious, if you say thank you the plant will not do good, or die so I will say I APPRECIATE it so much.
Good to know you are getting it together :)
Kareoke, I always say "thank you for the container" if someone gives me a potted plant. My aunt taught me that!
Kell, another Beauty my friend! When are you going to open up a store?? lol *sigh* You don't need me to tell you how beautiful your flowers are cos' ya know they are, every single one of them. Great job :-)
Lucky you Kareoke!!!
Hugs
Julie
