I got this one too at Home Depot. I'm fairly sure it is E. chrysocardium:

yes, I agree, your last one compares well to the chrysocardium pictures. I think I have to a little more digging around about the others.

Oh that Red-Orange one is today's favorite.......but that peachy one would give it a run for beauty of the week!

I think they are like children, how can you pick a favorite....we just need to have one of each.

Clare, I have checked our HD over the last few weeks and no one around here has anything like those....just the normal junk they usually carry. :(

Since this is getting very long again.....how about a PART THREE?

Thanks, Ursula!

Candy, I think I got lucky. I haven't seen them offered again since I got mine, but I haven't been going to HD very often these days.

Okay, I'm headed to Part 3!

Hello All, I went out to get update pics of my Epi and boo hoo. Batteries low. Blooms coming along tho, getting bigger every day. I gotta buy batteries so will get pics tomorrow. Funny tho I moved it almost out in the direct sun and that's when the blooms appeared. Maybe I had it in to much shadeeeeee? well, ya learn by doing. Marilynne

I'm new to epis. Where can I go for the basics for a fern orchid and a night blooming cyrus (or so I was told they were called)? My BFF gave me the night bloomer; hers are very large and have bloomed remarkably this year. She keeps them in filtered light outside. Mine didn't do well until she said they like to be in pots. Do I treat the fern orchid the same way?

Julianne, all the threads from Happenstance that were bumped up recently are great for information on care. There are also other sites that give care information:

I don't know what a fern cactus is, but if it is an epiphyllum, then it gets the same care. The night-blooming cereus is Epiphyllum oxypetalum. Here is Ursula's: http://www.kammlott.net/Eoxypetalum2000.html

Thanks, Clare, for the links as well as the corrected spelling. The first link was exactly what I needed and the gallery was stunning! No wonder epis have such a huge following. The second link wouldn't open. Maybe it's changed.

Thanks again.

Oh, sorry about the second link. Here it is: http://www.epies.net/ Just click on "growing with Pat" and then select the various topics like light, watering, planting, etc. to read about care.
