I just bought three of these....two Red Head and one Valley Rose. They are pretty amazing looking, even if in their one gallon pots. Tell me why you wouldn't be without this shrub!

Pieris japonica - tell me why I'm gonna love it!
Well, it's a beautiful all-season shrub if you can grow it. I don't see many healthy specimens here in our Midwest climate. Give them a protected site, with acidic, organic, well-drained soil (like you would use for Rhododendrons), and protection from winter sun and wind.

Mine have all died.
I found a site about them - they are gorgeous, and the Valley Rose is supposed to be more cold-hardy than most or them. You will have to let us know how it turns out!
