It's getting too hot here too soon!95 degrees, and it's not good for my tomatoes....too hot to bloom~ I'm jealous you're eating fresh tomotoes...sounds like you have a great plan for the use of gh! Debra~

Oh....Alaska.....I spent a week in Homer 2 years ago. Fell in LOVE with "the end of the road". Will the Moose try to get in your GH for snacks Rick? I can only imagine how much they would love your carrots!

Believe it or not we don't get moose right where we live. Moose are about 20 miles away. We get a few deer, but the most destructive animals for us are porcupines. They will eat nearly anything including the wooden foundations to homes. Some of them have been known to die of a sudden onset of lead poisening.

Porcupines! Sounds like large "spiked" rats! I just couldn't get over the Moose on my trip. And the sunsets............ah! Incredible place.....magical!

Another porcupine showed up last night. Alas he departed never to return again. I think he contracted a case of lead poisening.

We have rabbits with the same disease.
Wish deer could catch it , too.
Fields around here were still standing corn during deer hunting season last fall, so no decrease in deer population.
We put up an electric fence, so far no deer damage.
Wonder if Shoe could drum up a meal with the porcupine!

Oops! Bad way to go, I'm guessing. We have coyotes, skunks, 'possum, jack rabbits....nothing exotic, just your run of the mill road pizza critters.
