MGs in pots

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I was wondering what size pots eveyone uses if that's how you grow yours. I have a lot I am doing and want to grow some in pots on my patio up my arbor so they are close up. Is it better to get them a little root bound? Any that don't do well in pots?
Thanks Ronnie

oh my gosh I love you r whole area, man what i'd do with that climbing space LOL. I'd have a roof of plants there, yes in deedy LOL. I grow all my japanese morning glories in pots, some grow up trellis's a nd some grow up tomatoe cages. They all do well for me in pots. Good luck.

Thanks guys the abor was a gift from my husband the year my dad died so it is extra special to me! Golgi come on over I'll save the lounge chair for you! LOL.
kathy_ann, what size pots do you have your Japanese in? I don't know if I should use the big pots or smaller ones or doesn't it matter. I guess smaller would jut mean more water.

Well,I plant mine about 4" apart in pots,so maybe that will give you an idea.Smaller pots, fewr morning glories per pot! I'll be over to claim my spot,as I will have to scrape about 8" of snow off my deck furniture to get a seat, according to our weatherman! (Could i have a glass of iced tea please?)

Thanks golgi, ice tea is waiting!! And I thought it was chilly here at 55. Don't send the snow over here!!!

Why can't you plant them in the ground butted up next to the trellis??

T, The arbor sits on the patio and there is a 2' concrete perimeter around it. We had the patio before the arbor and that was the only cost efficient way to do it unfortunately.

Have you seen those pots that are split? You put one on either side of a post, and then it looks like one piece?
