Help with climbing gloriosa lily please

Mount Pleasant, SC(Zone 8b)

Can anyone help me with my gloriosa lily? I bought one tuber at my local nursery and planted it in early March, in a large container. It seemed to like how and where it was planted, as it sprouted almost immediately and was growing quite fast. Then about two weeks ago, it just stopped growing. Also, the color is not as green as I think it should be, it's kind of a light yellowish green. Just today I noticed that the very tips of the leaves are starting to look dried up.

I am in zone 8B, and have it palnted in full sun. I have been watering regularly, and it's in a container that drains well. Any advice or suggestions to save my lily? Thanks in advance!

Could it be a weather thing? I understand they won't tolerate night temps lower than 50º.

But I've never grown 'em, just lusted after them. And read about 'em. *sigh*

Good luck with yours!

Maybe you have been overwatering or over fertilizing it. You might try spraying it with a mixture of chelated iron as it might be lacking that.
Good luck

You know now that you mention it, it may be the weather. We have had a few unusually cold nights here, down to around 40 or so.

I will try to hold back on the watering a little and try the iron too.

Thanks!

As I've said, I don't' really know, but If it were me, I'd protect the plant when temps went below 50º. From what I read they are very very tender. You want to keep it warm.

This is why I haven't grown one yet. With my luck we'd have snow in June just because I planted one. =( But I do love 'em.

Not sure why you have it in a pot. Mine are in the ground. They thrive on neglect. They are in full sun and only get water when everything else does. In the ground, they will migrate to where they want to be (I usually find them deeper than I first planted them) and they will multiply like crazy. I once planted ten and then a couple of years later, dug up the bed to plant something else and dug up about 300 (made great trading material). Now, I occasionally dig some up for trades and then I turn around and they are back again.
