moonflower seedlings

Ormond Beach, FL(Zone 9a)

my moonflower seedlings are now in the ground. They have started to have purple veins in the leaves. This is the first time at moonflowers so I'm not sure if this is normal. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yep,sounds like they are happy and healthy, bassetts!Mine start to develop the purple veining soon after their true leaves appear.

Oooh! Moonflowers.
You will get a fantastic show in the evenings and on cloudy days.
Be sure and post a pic and update us on how they are doing.

Just make sure that you have something big for them to grow up and support them! They will take off when it warms up!

I love them! Be ready for the show!

She's not kidding - they get huge! They overwhelmed my trellis and I had to attach bamboo for them to grow up - then they grew some more! Wish I would have had more flowers though. Shouldn't be a problem for you in your zone.

I put twine mesh over the trunk of a 15 foot palm and planted one by the downspout of the gutter. I hope that will be big enough.
