maireana brevifolia

One of the seeds I got from Sandeman seeds was Maireana brevifolia. I am not sure why now, but I have it and quite a bit of it. It seems like a beautiful short shrub with small, blue-green leaves that is pretty drought tolerant with flowers in the summer. Germination doesn't seem to be a big problem though the rate doesn't seem overly high. Has anyone tried to grow this? I would be most interested in their experiences. It is from Australia and used to reclaim salty lands, so it has got to be pretty tough.

Plant it up & down the driveway?

You know; especially if you like close to the beach.

I suspect it is like a lot of natives, good in isolation but not much when you get a whole bunch together. Chemise, a CA native, is like that. We shall see, going the seed trays tomorrow. Supposed to be up in a coupe of weeks. I suspect it grows pretty fast. I can only see the ocean on a clear day, when there is a hard horizon, although it is only about a mile away. Wal+Mart below has the best view in their area, from their parking lot.
