I have a piece of a very old and special-to-me castor that is being removed. The piece has 4 joints.
I read a comment here that castor can be easily rooted by stem cuttings, but I'm not sure how best to do that with castor. How large a stem piece is best to use? Do all the leaves get stripped off? Should it be rooted in dirt or water?
There were no pods ready on this plant or I would just grow it from seed. Thank you so much for any and all help.

Advice on Castor grown from stem cutting?
I don't know about propagating from stem cuttings but I just harvested 50 seeds from one of mine if you are in need of any.
Jan...
Jan, I have some others growing, but thank you so much for your generous offer.
I had no idea that they would root from stem cuttings until I read the comment in PF. I guess I will just proceed as "normal" and hope for the best, lol. Thanks again!
