LOLOL...I'm sure that some will show up in your mailbox echoes (just give us a year or two)! ;)

Finally!!! Son of Carnosa* finally opened its first flower of the year this morning. The smell is totally overpowering from this one cluster - the entire upstairs, smells exotic like no chemical air freshener could imitate. DH climbed into bed complaining, but stayed there...sigh...lol.

*I saved a cutting from his mom 4 years ago, a plant I'd had for about 20 years, and which bloomed like a fool every year. My then kittens nearly destroyed Mom, so I left it behind when we moved here. Last year was the first time Sonny had bloomed, but took after his mom and bloomed heavily all season.

Here's Sonny!

He's gorgeous Christine......I love the white shimmer that those flowers have!

Congrats Christine, now you need more flowers to scare the DH away :)

Thanks. I had a lamp beside it, and took the picture from below with a flash. Dang flowers are hiding in the leaves, but the scent sure isn't!

I ordered seven more hoyas from Pike's today... Get your orders in quick, he's run out of some varieties already.

It's beautiful Christine. You've ordered 7 more hoyas? Wow! It's amazing what one photo started.

Milan, I missed your post earlier - thanks, and you're right !! Soon....lol. 'puter's in the basement - I went up to the kitchen awhile ago, and could smell hoya blossom on that floor too! Gosh, his first bloom's really intense this year! Can't wait until the rest of the hoyas start flowering. I must pay pennannce for moving them all around last fall I guess.

You're right, Sandy. Brenda's original photo has started a Hoya Frenzy!

When you order 7 plants from Pike's, the price goes down from $15 each to $12.50 each - i.e., you get one free, and then some!

In all honesty though, I was completely addicted long before this thread...lol.

Thanks to all this I made my first visit to the Hoya Forum last night. I'll definitely have to start going there as often as I can because it was really interesting and lots of great pictures of different hoyas. Sigh....so many forums....so little time.

LOL.......tis a dangerous place isn't it?

So many forums....so little time....only so much money. ;)

ROFL

first brugs, then hoyas, the addictions continue...

These hoyas; the carnosa have such a distinct scent. I remember walking into mom's house, and as soon as you walk in, you can tell if the hoya is blooming. It's such a wonderful scent. Mom's got a couple started for me.

Whoops! Something was going on with my computer today at noon, I thought neither one of these messages was sent, good thing I didn't click SEND a few more times!
