I haven't tried yet, but we're gonna let you know as soon as we figure it out!

Stevia
Young growth cuttings propagate great! This can be done in late spring/early summer.
In the Fall, I sometimes cut them back to the ground, saving the youngest of the cuttings. These will root in water BUT there is a small rate of rooting so be sure to use more than just one cutting. (Willow water or peroxide in the water helps with rooting.)
Good to see so much interest in Stevia! I love growing this plant! (Course now, I love growing most other plants also!) :>)
I just received two plants today that ordered from Companion Plants on 4/18. They look very healthy

Here is a link that should take you directly to the page listing Stevia:
https://home.frognet.net/~complants/secure/cart/sc-sz.htm
it is the fourth listing from the bottom of the page.
My babies are about 3 weeks old, but growing slowly as we are still too cold to have them outdoors yet. I have the second set of leaves. What an adorable plant! If the people place enough pressure on them, I believe that the FDA will have to give in & allow the sale of Stevia as a sweetener eventually. How unfair to keep such a wonderful plant from patients who could truly benefit from its use! Of course, it isn't their mission to heal people - it is to sell more drugs. Like the fox guarding the hens. Grrr - I know I will spread the word freely! I have some spare seeds if anyone would like to try their luck at sowing them...
I got mine from from Mulberry creek and one from Fragrant fields. If you scroll back up to the previous replies in this thread there are links dirrectly to places that you can order it from.

Here is a book that I have. I bought it for the recipes. It even tells you how to extract the sweetness from the leaves. I put the book in the Garden Bookworm last year.

Okay, I pinched back my four plants and am now attempting to root the cuttings. I'll see how they do...
Yes, please let us know! I'll bet rooting cuttings would be quicker than waiting for those tiny seedlings to grow. Mine is doing all right now, but it sat around with 4 teeny leaves for the longest time!
By the way, Critter, I can't find the info on my glasses. But your optimologist should have it.

Just knowing about them will be a help -- thanks!
I've only had trouble with migraines 1 day this past week, so I've been *enjoying* the come & go sunshine! :-)
My stevia plant isn't big enough for cuttings yet, but I'm anxious to hear how yours do.... are you rooting them in water, or did you stick them?
Stuck 'em!
I have plenty of fresh seeds!
