problem with lilac josee

This is in a container. Started out covered with buds, but they are slowly wilting and getting moldy and falling off.

Suggestions what to do? I was told by the seller (Garden Supply Co.) that it would be fine in a conatiner.

Looks like a blight disease...it can spead rapidly throughout the plant. I'd bring it back and get my money back or have it replaced.

It was an online purchase. HAd it for over a year almost I think.

Any way to treat it?

Copper sspray?
