Congratulations Kaleem. It is so exciting to see the very first bloom.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

Kaleem, that's wonderful. The very first bloom is always so special, take lots of pictures, smell it frequently, and just rejoice in it's beauty. The blooms that follow will be very close to as exciting as the first.

Congratulations.

I've wondered if brugmansias are common, infrequent or rare, in Pakistan.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Looks like it's going to be a big one. Does it have a name?

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

I'm sure you will love it. The waiting is hard though. LOL! Enjoy!

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

I'm watching this thread Kaleem.
I may have my first bloom soon. A couple have budded and dropped but the I.P. has kept one bud that I can see the silhouette inside is finally extending and starting to fill into the calyx. I was also sad to see last night that the other bud on the same plant now had a dark stem and was drooping.

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Why this happened with your plants? My plant have 4 to 5 buds and all are okay, I watered twice a day and plant is very healthy, used only manure, sand and clay.

Corte Madera, CA

congrats, kaleem! i wish to post pictures like that soon. but my brugs haven't taken off.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kaleem, it's probably because 8ftbed's plants aren't outside yet. It is still very cold where he lives. It will probably be another month before he or I can put our plants outside, maybe even longer. You are lucky to have good weather.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Whoever coined the phrase "Patience is a virtue" probably grew brugs!

Kaleem, do you know what variety this is?
Plus, MG99 asked earlier if brugs were uncommon in Pakistan and I'd like to know as well. My first bloom is about where yours was at on the 28th.

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

I can't explain the feeling after .... wonderful smell direct from the Heaven.
I am the only one in this city who have Brug, very very rare in the pakistan, never seen in any other city here.
I am thankful of Daisy who sent me cutting of this.
ahelms and Brugie also sent me seeds now these are in the pots and pots are in the bags and bags are in the garden.......
Thanks
